Just bought Bioshock Infinite and wonder if you guys have any suggestions as to what graphic-settings would work for my quite old computer, is it even playable at a decent fps? Anyway, here's my rig:
The cpu is above recommended and the gpu is above minimum and just below recommended.
Ok thnx. where did you get that systemrequirements btw. This is what i could find (on 2K's website):
RECOMMENDED
OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 64-bit
Processor: Quad Core Processor
Memory: 4 GB
Hard Drive: 30 GB free
Video Card: DirectX11 Compatible, AMD Radeon HD 6950 / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560
Video Card Memory: 1024 MB
Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
I've also read that i could try to change the PoolSize in "/engine/config/baseengine.ini" to use higher amounts of memory because it's set to a level that consoles use. Is that worth trying out?

@Izak80: i was running the game 60 fps at all times on my old dtx 260, some settigns couldnt be enabled since they were dx11, i enabled those settings and dx11....perfomance died.

ehm, how is this possible? :P
Unless you have a hackable DX11 blah blah blah...
So @Izak80 your system is nice for Bioshock.
Your GPU is very strong and this is 1920 x 1200.
You are going to get a couple FPS so you will be near 60FPS average.
Just don't use AA.
Also you can see that even core i3 and Phenom II X2 can even run this game at 60FPS.

And your CPU at 3,4Ghz is faster.
Have fun with Bioshock Infinite :)
Thnx for all the info, yeah it ran just fine. I've just beaten the game and what an amazing experience it was. Now i've just bought Batman Arkham Asylum. I imagine it won't be as good as Bioshock Infinite but i'm hoping for a couple of hours of fun nevertheless. I would love for some Skyrim but maybe that's pushing my graphicscard to hard :)

Anytime :).
You would be surprised how good is the first of the new batman series, The Arkham Asylum. It has a metacritic score of 91%. Personally I think its the best superhero based videogame and the best action games of the last 5 years.
Also, since your setup was similar to mine, I can guarantee that you can play skyrim at high settings (maybe more) with your setup :).
This picture on the left is with Ivy i7, so as you can see your GPU can run the game at max settings with 50+FPS.
Your O/C CPU will help you in this CPU based game.
I used high settings with my 2,4Ghz Q6600. Your 3,4Ghz Q6600 might be able to Max it.
@Coseniath: in dx10 with the gtx260, a good amount of effects are reserved for dx11, which 260 cant do but without those effects it was 60 fps at all time, when i upgraded to gtx 660 i gain acess to those effects, aside from some minor lighting improvements it looks identical but the game run like crap.

Oh. You didnt mention the GTX660 part :P.
Yeah you don't need to activate a lot of things. Only a heavy tesselation option can easily kill your GPU power and make your GTX660 to play bioshock worse than GTX260.
@Coseniath: lol i feel stupid, there is no tesselation but somehow the lock framerate option got turned own. Propably when the game detected my new videocard and re-set the graphics options, i manually set them all to maximum but i never noticed the lock framerate option, so the game run on 30 fps. Stil i finished the game before upgrade and i played it for like 10 minutes so i didnt bother checking it further.

Nah don't be. The last NFS from EA was locked at 30FPS from the day 1 without an option to unlock it. (well not from the game, you can do it manually...)
