I got BF3 a couple months =ago because it was on sale for $10. On paper, my PC met the System Requirments. But when I tried to launch the game, I found out I just don't have the cappable hardware.

Is there anything I can do short of getting a new PC to get BF3 running?

System Specs

Lenovo B570 Laptop

Intel Pentium Dual Core 2.10ghZ

Intel HD 3000 Graphics

Nope, I'm fairly sure you do not meet the requirements.

I'm just trying to get it to run. I don't care how good the graphics are. I run Skyrim on Low all the time and it doesn't bother me

I know WHY I can't run it. I'm asking if there's anything I can do to get it running without getting a new PC

At least 3 people are going to reply to this comment "Just get a new PC"
I'M NOT GOING TO BUY A NEW PC. NOTHING YOU SAY WILL CONVINCE ME TO BUY A NEW ONE. I AM ASKING WHAT I CAN DO WITH MY CURRENT SETUP. I KNOW IT'S CRAP, BUT IT'S WHAT I HAVE. YOU DON'T HAVE TO CONSTANTLY REMIND ME THAT IT'S OUTDATED. SO, UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE SOME ADVICE OTHER THAN "GET A NEW PC" OR "THAT SYSTEM SUCKS" OR "THAT'S NOT A REAL GPU," PLEASE, DON'T COMMENT

Well like it or not, that's what you'll have to do if you want to play BF3.

clearly you dont understand. your asking us if theres some magical way your horribly weak pc can somehow play one of the more demanding games around. your pc is so far under the minimum specs, theres nothing you can do except get a new pc

Even on the lowest setting ? But yeah, if you don't meet the minimum...

They are saying that because that is what it will take to play the game. Its like trying to drive a dumptruck with a lawnmower engine. You might somehow get the game to launch, but it will run at a slideshow framerate.

you have a stinking laptop there is nothing you can do, but buy a better laptop meant for gaming, or buy a a desktop or build one, there how is that for a reply?

#29 Posted by Mario_Eater (344 posts) -
No. There is no way that you can possibly get BF3 to run on your laptop. No way whatsoever, fullstop. Your laptop specs don't even meet the minimum requirements on paper.
#30 Posted by Bikouchu35 (7488 posts) -

Want to play bf3 = Buy new pc

Want to use the same laptop = don't play bf3, give the key to a friend or something.

Yes, there is need for that. It is impossible for you to do literally ANYTHING with your current laptop to make it good or even passable for gaming unless all you want to play is pinball or something. BF3 would basically be a slideshow on the lowest settings with your setup. If you don't want to hear that then that's your problem, not anyone else's.

Also, you cannot upgrade any component within your laptop most likely. "Get a new PC" looks to be the only option. That or give up on playing BF3.
