Do they have to be from the 90s?

Not sure if it from the 90's, but I do remember loving a motorcycle game on computer from many years ago. Just driving around on a stage doing tricks.

I won't claim they are the best, but they're the games I had the fondest memories of growing up.

Wolfenstein 3D
Age of Empires
SWAT 3
Diablo 2 (I realize it's 2000, but close enough)

You really can't beat that list at #8. Every time I see Aladdin now I think of the carpet on WoW. If you hover over the icon it says "Don't Look Down".

Old school PC games? Some not mentioned.

Steel Panthers (1994) and sequels

Star Control 2 (1992)

Close Combat 2: A Bridge Too Far (1997) and sequels

Crusader: No Remorse (1995)

A whole bunch of Lucasarts adventure games starting from 1990

My favorite genre, flight sims:

European Air War (1998)

1942: Pacific Air War (1994)

Falcon 4.0 (1998)

Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe (1991)

Aces of the Pacific (1992)

Truly the golden age of PC gaming. Look at them manuals....

There´s so many of them, the ones mentioned here are just a small fraction of what the system has to offer, look at GoG.com,they have plenty of classics but are still, far, very far from having a decent percentage of awesome games the PC has,but it´s a good place to start.
