Go to your steam's main folder then to \steamapps\_username_\_nameOfTheGame\_shortNameOfTheGame\SAVE

Example:

\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\_username_\half-life 2\hl2 or

\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\_username_\counter-strike source\cstrike

Regardless of the game you might want to save the cfg folder, in order to save your control settings and scripts.

Hi I'm having some steam saved games problems and questiosn....

In ProgramFiles/steam/steamapps....

common has all my games and

myusername has nothing.

What does that mean?

Also

To backup your entire installation (including custom content), ensure that copies of allcustom files are in the following folders in the path:C:Program FilesSteamSteamApps\:

  • /cfg/- Custom configurations and configuration scripts
  • /downloads/- Custom content for multiplayer games
  • /maps/- Custom maps which have been installed or downloaded during multiplayer games
  • /materials/- Custom textures and skins
  • /SAVE/- Single-player saved games

To locate your saves for third party games, please see this forum post:

Steam Save Game Locations

The files will need to be copied to the corresponding folders after restoring withthe Steam backup feature.

What does that mean? I don't have any files in myusername folder. I want to back up all my steam games (including saved games) on external HD and then copy them all over to a new steam-only partition.

What does it mean that aforementioned folder is empty?

How can I successfuly backup local content (including saved games)??

Cheers tahnks.
