OK, so just before my hd died i re installed hl2 as i have never really played it even though i got it on release day years ago. As soon as my pc is fixed i will begin to play again. I did notice though, on the bits i played before my pc died, that the graphics were a little dated. Don't get me wrong they looked good but i just wondered if there are any mods available to improve them, like oblivion mods do. thanks for any info.

If you don't mind large downloads, and have a pretty powerful computer, I recommend FakeFactory's Cinematic Mod 4.0.

Ya once you get past those ugly ass outfits (sorry I am not into that scary leather bondage stuff...the skimpy tank top was nice though) it makes the game look very nice.
I hate the new character models in the Cinimatic Mod. All the faces look like they're made from plastic, and the animations just don't look as good as the originals; although I'm not sure if they actually changed the animations or if its just the new models. The few other improvements they did look pretty good though.
Nah, you dont need to. But if your run HL2 at really high res and settings, and want the smoothst FPS posible and shortest load times, you need the 2GB of ram/ 512 v-ram
I was able to run v3 on 256 vram and 1GB of ram decently well.

Haha. Jessica Cannon is a better looking Source game model anyway imo. I'll have to check out that mod sometime, I'd be interested in seeing the graphics improvements besides the outfit stuff :)

The mod only replaces textures, not animations.
And you can change the models. In the mod folder there is a subfolder called Alyx Model Editor (or something like it)... it's a program you can select all the models available for AlyxÂ
Does facfatroy mod look good at 1280x1024? Because I read somewhere if you don't have at least a 1600x1200 moniter the game would lok worse with the mod on!             By the way I have an 8800gts 320mb. Should I get the FakeFactory mod also?
I was just watching a CS:Source match on youtube and apparently one of the vids to the side was a free steam games so I clicked the link and saw the video then saw 100s of these things.
Are people really that stupid and gullible that they would email their account and password to an obvious fake gmail, hotmail, or yahoo email for Steam account support?Â
Finally, someone understands me feelings about corn rows. Any girl who gets cornrows might as well just shave her head....atleast if she shaved her head she would get my respect. But cornrows...ick.
