In this case, yeah - I'd take a quad over a dual at this point in time, even if the dual's cores are slightly faster.

I have the i5-650 and it's a great CPU. But I would still go with a quad core over it. Maybe look at the Core i5-750?

why is the clock speed for the i5 750 only 2.66 GHz.. is the CPU slow? and compared to the Phenom II X4 955/965 which one is better for speed and performance?

i5-650 is a d core cpu take i5 750, i5 750 is better in performance

i5 750 is best for gaming, compared to i7 and PII x4. However that doesn't mean it's the best for everything else.
