Advice on this build

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.4 GHz

Motherboard: ASUS Z87-

CPU Fan: Cooler Master Hyper 212

Video Card: Gigabyte Radeon R9 290

RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600

HDD: Western Digital Blue 2TB

Case: Cooler Master HAF 912

PSU: Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 850W Plus Silver

If I'm building my pc for the sole reason of gaming do you have any recommendation or remark that could improve my build ?

If I'm tight on budget does it worth to buy R9 290x or geforc GTX 780 instead of the R9 290 ? is there a worthy difference ?

and which is better the R9 290x or the geforc GTX 780 ?

if I want to save money is there any changes I should do ?

Get a Z97 board instead of Z87, You dont see a 850w psu a good quality 650w gold rated is more then enough the whole system would be luck to use 450w. But its nice to have some head room.

GTX 780 and 290 are on par so get which ever one is cheapest

Hello.

First of all if you plan building this PC make sure that this R9 290 is NOT a reference model.

Second is this: "HDD: Western Digital Blue 2TB", From what I know there is no such thing as a WD blue 2TB. Blue goes up to 1TB. Are you sure this isn't a crappy green one?

3rd. What's your CPU cooler? if its the 212 plus and not the EVO, go for the EVO. It costs the same or up to $5 more...

I wouldn't recommend R9 290X over R9 290. If you don't mind spending more money just for a 5-10% more performance then go ahead.

I wouldn't reccomend GTX780 either but its somewhat the opposite of R9 290 and R9 290X (some higher models like GTX780 Ghz Edition from Gigabyte can almost reach GTX780ti levels, beating everything else...), so only if you want Nvidia instead of AMD you can go with GTX780. Otherwise stick with R9 290.

Why so much towards to R9 290? Well at $359 I can't justify more than $100 jump to either solutions (R9 290X and GTX780)...

And lastly If you want to save some money, go for a lower PSU.

Unless you are planing on XFire this 850watt would be an overkill. Go for a 600-650watt (hell even that would be an overkill :P).

Edit: Yeah I completely missed that. As 04dcarraher said, go for a Z97 motherboard since you have a haswell refresh CPU (so you will not bother with bios updates etc etc...).

Everything looks legit, I hope that 290 is 3rd party cooling and not the stock one, but other than that go ahead and buy it.
