Great price.

But with DDR4 and X99 mobo . . . Its not such a good deal for the time being.

If only I had the money....oh well. Someone in the forum has the new 8-core with 4-way Titans, I really want to see his 4k gaming benchmarks.

Well...

With an other $450 you can get a CPU cooler, an X99 mobo and 4x4GB DDR4...

In reality the whole system is around $100 more than a Z97 with 16GB. But with this cpu price cut it actually comes close to a 4790K/Cooler/Z97/16GB system...

@Coseniath: Not sure if the prices are different for the UK

but a X99 mobo is at best £160

the ddr4 is barely available but its cas 16 or 15 and takes up 4 modules for 16gb

May not be much more, but its a significant price to pay for an upgrade

lol, since you live at UK, why bothering with a microcenter in store pick up deal? :P

Well if you want my opinion, I would wait for Broadwell-E and probably a cheaper 8-core CPU ($500 range) in order to upgrade from a 2500K.
