Hey i am having troubles accessing my router its a TP-link TL-WR841N. I have never had troubles logging into routers until this one but i did not set this on up but still everything i do i cant get into it im wired, tried the combination of 192.168 etc and nothing. I want to do a factory reset but then im worried about not being able to get into it to set the wireless back up and my family would be very upset to say the least so any help would be great thx.

@nikeswoosh:

Start --> type in "cmd" --> type in "ipconfig /all" --> the default gateway is the router

You need to go to http://tplinklogin.net/

to setup the router first

login is admin and password should be admin as well.

reading the manual helps.

You really don't know what ipconfig means do you?

I said that to pinpoint the IP address of the router, which you didn't do or are unaware of how to read it. The default gateway IS the IP address, it doesn't have to be 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1, it can also be 172.16.x.x or 10.x.x.x

Find out what the IP is exactly, not "I've tried these IP's and it doesn't work", no-one can help you otherwise.

192.168.1.1 should be it's default address, also password and username is admin.

Are you sure you're connected to the same router that you're talking about? are you connected with lan cable or wireless trying to access it? worst case scenario HR/FR it and set everything again

If you borked the setup and changed the IP or subnet you can always reset it and log in with the default info which can surely be obtained from the manual/website.
