For me, I haven't seen much that I can honestly say I've enjoyed. It'd have to be between Fast Five (enjoyed this far more than I thought I would) and Rise of the Planet of the Apes (honestly thought this one was going to be terrible). What about you guys?

I think The Tree of Life, though flawed, is probably the best film of the year. Sophisticated film-making.

I heard that someone was suing that film because it didn't contain very much driving.

Haven't really seen anything this year except for Rise of the Planet of the Apes so that's my choice.

The Tree of Life is the top choice, and by a very large margin. Drive Midnight in Paris Poetry Everything else I've seen doesn't deserve to be mentioned.

Man, someone of you guys really don't see a lot of movies. Then again, maybe it seems that way to me because I go every weekend. :p Anyway, my favorites so far are probably Tree of Life, Drive, Source Code, and Moneyball. There's still a lot of others that have been listed in here (like Poetry and Submarine) that I still need to get around to watching.

It's just so unique. I really can't narrow down what made me like it so much. It was slow but in a good way. The Driver says maybe 80 words throughout the entire movie. The "80's" type soundtrack was really awesome and it was one of those movies where they use ambient noise nearly the whole time to create the mood. Very interesting film making and I haven't seen anything like it in a long time. Well worth the price of a matinee admission if you're skeptical.

Just to let you know; I'm taking the suing rights for this one.

I like the first half a lot more than the second half, which just became another blood bath.
