I went to my first concert the other day and saw 311. It was pretty awesome and almost everyone there was smoking the herb. I saw some crazy characters there like a one man moshpit, green man and drunk ass people.

So what what was your first concert experience like?

I went to small concerts as a kid, but my first big concert was Pearl Jam. Second was Bob Dylan. Both very cool.

Rolling Stones with Santana opening. Went with the old man because my mom didn't want to go. Was a HUGE stadium concert. We had crap seats though.

That sucks for you, I was at a small amphitheatre that held like around 2000 people and everyone had good seats.

Doesn't suck. Monster stadium concerts are second to none. It's part of going live. If I want a small concnert I'll listen to the music on my computer.

I've been to other shows, but my first real concert was this July when I saw Iron Maiden in Gothenburg, Sweden, never been to a stadium so big or seen that many people in one place, it was an amazing four and a half hour experience.

My first concert was The Sisters of Mercy. They had Public Enemy open for them. I thought it was an odd pairing.

Sonata Arctica, I don't think it was even close to sold out, but the lineup was great (Powerglove, Mutiny Within, Sonata Arctica).

However, the most fun I ever had at a concert was at the Ke$ha/LMFAO concert on her current Get Sleazy tour, and it pretty much made me realize how boring metal concerts are.

The first concert I went to was Shakira. It was sold out; there was like maybe 10,000 people there. I had a lot of fun at the concert; I thought she put on a good show, and she's a great dancer ;)

I had front row tickets, so I got a good view of them :D. Was surprised at how short she was.

Kiss and Faster *****cat. Don't remember when. Rode there in the back of a Ford Escort drinking screwdrivers the whole way there. Got sick and threw up in the parking lot. Don't remember much else.

I think they both have their advantages but given the choice I'd take a small club venue with a capacity of 1000 over a stadium anyday. They aren't as fancy as the huge productions of a stadium show but I like the intimacy of it all and how close you're able to be to the band.

It also depends on the band. Some are better in different situations.

A little ol band called The House Of Love - went all on my own like the brave solider I was. All quite intimidating for little me, but was worth it.

I think I have my concert stubs posted in my profile. (I'll have to unlock) Went to Judas Priest in HI (first concert)when I was in the service. A few rows from the stage. My hearing in right ear has never been great ever since. Ears were ringing for 3 days. Fun fun.

Other than that the one the stood otu the most was Woodstock 99'. What a trip.

Not exactly sure but I think it may have been the Deep Purple / Blue Oyster Cult double billing that I went to some time ago.

I think the first one I went to was American Idol Live Season 2

There were a couple others that I was invited to, and I had a good time and everything, but the first one I actually really wanted to go to was Sum 41. It was a small building, so only about 1000 people but IMO, just less people to elbow my way through to the front. Which I did eventually get to. Oh, and then I almost passed out.

But yeah it was great :P

It was a Joan Jett concert in 2006/2007, she and her band played in my town's event center.

It was pretty tight.

I went to some local show where the opening act was quite literally apologizing to the audience for performing. It just went down hill from there, too.

i went to warped tour in cuyahoga falls as my first. saw a lot of my favorite bands like August burns red, Woe is me, the devil wears prada, a day to remember, and i also saw 3oh!3, and of mice and men. im not big fans of those last two bands, but they were excellent entertainers and i enjoyed watching them. I went with good friends, the crowds were incredibly roudy, and i met some of the members of my favorite bands at the signings. all in all a truely fantastic day and one of the high points of my summer.
