Yellow fly bites are among the most painful things ever. It's not the bite itself that hurts (it does, but not comparatively), but the itching. The itching (NOT the scratching, but the itching itself) is so unbearable that I clawed the skin off my back to no avail once.

Have you ever been bitten by a yellow fly?

Thankfully no - that sounds more than a little bit unpleasant.

Do you live in Seattle?

"While female deer flies feed on blood, males instead collect pollen. When feeding, females use knife-like mandibles and maxillae to make a cross-shaped incision and then lap up the blood. Their bite can be extremely painful, and resulting allergic reaction from the saliva of the fly can result in further discomfort and health concerns. Pain and itch are the most common symptoms, but more significant allergic reactions can develop."

Jesus Christ.

Sounds like a roach of some kind. Yellow flies are quiet.

Oh, a deer fly. Yeah, they're annoying. You're just being dramatic, but they are a nuisance.

Then you're overly sensitive because it's not that bad.

I believe him; the effect of their saliva varies from person to person.

If there is then they need to detonate it before those things migrate over here!

**** me, Norfolk isn't far from where I live. I didn't know we had those kind of insects here in England. That woman is far braver than I am; if one of those flew into my house I would literally **** myself, evacuate my premise, sell my house, and move country.
