This makes me feel a little bit better about America it looks like we finally got some competition in stupidity.
"Hey everyone, what we've been doing has worked, so let's stop doing and celebrate by doing the opposite!"
It makes sense if you don't think about it.
They haven't had a case for 3 months now, so I guess at some point life has to get back to normal?
There were 12 cases in China yesterday. Plus there has been a exodus of people from Hong Kong going to China in recent weeks to avoid the third wave in HK.
@kadin_kai: Yeah but my point was at some point we have to return to normality. 12 cases in the whole of China is brilliant news, and none being in Wuhan tells me they have every right to enjoy life a little after having experienced the type of enforced lock down that no Western government would be able to justify.
We could probably do that ourselves over here. I recall there was a big concert last month, and that didn't result in any new infections. No local transmission in about 80 days now. Did have to exhale a bit recently after two people passed quarantine, then tested positive when they prepared to go overseas. Turns out they were non-transmissible. Phew.
Even the political protests are back, and the government's just mostly chill about them, relatively speaking. Most people are still wearing masks, though. I guess we're not quite as ready to be as cavalier.
