Wow OT Is a ghost town!!??

I check OT throughout the day and check the amount of comments in threads every time I come through here, and it's like nobody is even posting in OT while threads in system wars are bumping, what's going on in OT?

We purge people we don't like. Unless they humor us, then we keep them as pets.

The change in design pretty much killed this place.

Yeah we'd be lying if we said this place and Games Discussion and Consoles threads are very active.

A large portion of the community left after the changeover to the new forums, and it's only gone downhill since then.

And Gamespot doesn't care about the forum traffic, because it only represents a fraction of the traffic they get compared to the comments on news articles.

Agreed. But the layout change was really what did it in. This place is a ghost town now, with only a few regulars still around.

The redesign I guess. Plus the poor descisons like the tou change made people see who people really were. We liked it better when we lived in ignorance.

It died over a year ago with the new site redesign but it was always on life support though since the rules change before that

Indeed. This is the first time in months that I've been on this site and I still just can't get used to it.

a lot of people quit when the mods decided to defend a pedophile and banned a good 60% of the good old boys, and some of those who were not banned quit, like xaos.

I don't know the whole story, but many do.

I wasn't a mod when KMX was around so I don't know about the whole mods letting KMX be around event. I do know that he is infamous for something I don't want to talk about. The ToU change is when activity started to drop. I remember people used to beat around the bush in OT and troll other users without getting moderated because of the old ToU and it was more entertaining that way for the users who did it. While SW was notorious for getting people banned/moderated/suspended.

After the site revamp and unions getting destroyed many including myself had to go to other places to talk to the people who left gamespot. I still think gamespot is better in some ways than those sites that were made.

The mods didn't defend him.

Did anyone want the tou we got. Like who were they trying to appeal to.

Gs didn't defend KMX.

They just did stuff behind the scenes that led to a general misunderstanding after the account was kept open for a bit with no real communication that anyone was looking into stuff.

Indifferent/absent to his actions.

I'd rather having periods of inactivity than have that drama llama to deal with

System wars seems busy enough, only a few months ago there was quite a few decent threads being made in OT, its gone downhill last month or so.

I cant speak about earlier before the re-design because I only started visiting these forums in March

Yeah, it's pretty slow. Seems like many people are gone. I was never an avid OT poster, but I would lurk a lot and post occasionally.

I've been thru other sites before, very active at one point but they do died out after a while.. sad but that's how it is.

If anything, I think OT has been becoming more popular recently. But then again, I only started visiting the forums post re-design so I might be wrong.

Was this info ever shared with the police? Because admitting to raping a child is a very serious thing.

Ironically, this is probably the 2nd (or 3rd) most active forum on GS after System Wars. If you want dead, go to the console forums.

BRHD should come back , was a fun poster and it was funny how everyone others picked on him, OT felt kinda lively LOL.

Yeah forums for the most part are dead outside of SW. The site redesign just destroyed this site for me. :( Only come here nowadays to look at the news and look at the comments attached to the news.

Pretty much OT, SW and all the other boards are dead cause of the redesign. The new TOU had a helping hand in people leaving but when GS pretty much gave us the middle finger by scraping Unions, it was the finale straw for a lot of people.

No one defended him so if your statement were true it would have killed OT then. It didn't.
