ok so its 9 in the morning and im getting ready for school(college) and i get a phone call from the "navy". The guy rants off about how you can get money while going to school and stuff. I listen quietly and am getting reay to turn down his offer, like every other military spokesman whos called me. i say no. Then he says im not worthy of the navy's information or program, i can be the "status quo" left limping behind,struggling to pay for my education he said all this.I was shocked, anyone else getting relentless phone calls from the military to join?. Im fresh out of highschool, and i have lost count on the number of calls i have gotten from them.LEAVE ME ALONE!!
They just like to use scare tactics because they know it works on people who have fragile egos. Trust me, there are ways to pay for school, and the "status quo" is a pretty nice place to live. I do what I want when I want as long as work and my GF dont mind...lol
I used to get calls all the time after I turned 18, but none were rude like your guy. Maybe he is not having any success as a recruiter. Just tell them you're gay

My dad was a recruiter in the Marines and he said the same crap. After work, he would come home and **** to me about how 'disgusting' and low life civilians can be. No wonder he's so messed up now. But that's not true with every person in the military. There are normal, decent people in the service.
sucks for you, im 18 years old, signed up for the draft and i have not recieved one phone call on our home phone or my cell phone from any military people. And if you want them off your ass, just tell them you lost your legs in an, " unfortunate shhmmelting accident". lol
ya so the american military is pretty pathetic and desperate, I feel bad for the troops who are hung out to dry in order to kill brown people for political reasons.

I've had a few calls. A couple from the Army, once from the Marines I think. They were all very nice. In each case, when I mentioned I was going to college, or had enough money to pay for it, they basically wished me good luck and ended the conversation. :) I get all the nice people, it seems.
I live in the UK so no recruitment calls for me. Infact are army is very good in that aspect, when I visited the recruitment office they were very helpful and gave me a very no-BS talk about army life. Sadly though there entry criteria is to high for me, I have a medical condition with my foot, the british army are very strict with feet. I could do logistics fine, and I would like to, but the entry criteria cover every position in the army.
i use to but they pretty much leave me alone nowadays but when i was fresh out of highschool was when it was happening i think they are like most people dont know what they want to do when that happens so lets give them our sucky option and make it sound as great as possible
in my country when you reach the age of 19-20 and do not continue your education you MUST go to military or you're a criminal.If you continue your education, they wait for you....and you automatically become an officer(you choose though,if you choose just private you do the servicce shorter)
Or you can join the professional army and do it as a job
Actually alot of times Ill get those cards with offers like getting free Boonie hat if I ask for more information. I got like 4 seperate things like a Marines medallion and a Army thermos for sending information, and they always call me now. I basically told them I only askedf or information to get the free items. He wasn't very happy about it.
the military dosent call me but they keep sending me things in the mail trying to persuade me to join either the military or the marines which is stupid b/c I would never join in a million years
A few days after i turned 18 the army called, and then a few months after that the marines called me to try to get me to sign up. The only reason I turned them down is that I have other plansfor my life.
Every senior in high school gets to sign a contract that allows services like the miliary, navy, medical schools, etc. to send you or call you about what they do. I think you sign during school registration. That is why you get calls. It happens to everyone. I get letters that I'm interested in the medical field just because I took a survey that I was. The only thing is that I am a freshman, and I want more time to think what my future job will be.

Agreed, people always complain about people bothering them, but it's kind of their faults, if some guy asks you something you don't want to do, say, "No thanks, buy".

Yeah i have to agree lol i don't think their budget stretches that far, however if you signed any forms or gave them your personal details at a careers convention they'll phone you first thing the next day lol.
I remember we took test called ASVAB i think thats what it's called. its for the armed services skills. It had different sections like math, mechanical stuff like that. I remember I got like a perfect score on the speed math portion, and I got some postcard later saying that from my results I would be good to work with the nuclear submarine program. They called me alot too after that.
I had some marines stop by when I was drying my car, they scared the crap out of me when they told me to back away from the car and put my hands on my head. It was all just a joke and they were attempting to recruit me :/ .
my parents wanted me to take asvab test because my guidance consouler told me that it was a good test to see what i'm good at. once my mom signed me up i would get a call almost everyday. he wanted me to go in his car take the test in some city that was like 1 hour away from my house. once i told him no i never got a call again. i liked the person that said tel them ur gay
