But let me ask you this: do you think YOUR views are flawed?

Engrish_Major

Nobody's perfect. I'm sure some of my opinions can be disputed well.

But anyone who thinks the Bible isn't full of contradictions, is fooling themselves.

can you tell me these contradictions?

Are you serious? Why do you think the Christians wrote the New Testament? The original was not good enough for them. Do you actually believe everything that is written in the bible?

Yes, but some of it is meant symbolicly...

In fact, I have always been curious. We are not supposed to worship anyone other than god. But then Jesus came around, then all of a sudden it was okay.

Same thing happened to me, except for Brits.

Wait...what? I can't work out if you just said something positive or negative about me :?

His just saying that most of the British individuals he met were unkind to him.

Oh noes :(

In my opinion, you guys are cool, well except for the fact if I ask directions to a certain place in Britain most of you guys I asked take it as a personal insult.

If the US Presidential candidate for the party you would normally vote for were an atheist, would you still vote for them? I ask this, as I recently found a report that found 52% of Americans wouldn't vote for a well-qualified atheist.Bourbons3

I'm sorry if someone has already asked this but I'd like to know without reading through a huge load of posts. As for my opinion of course I would who cares if he's atheist, agnostic, islamic, etc. it doesn't matter realgion has no place in politics

Anyway, I think we are straying from the original intent of this thread. If we want to start one debating the existence of god, then maybe we should.

People who have deep faith in religion have one thing in common. And that is they all are exemplary citizens. A person who believes in God would also seem to be more secure and morally-motivated.

Bin Laden doesn't "deeply" follow his religion.

Bin Laden is Muslim, is he not? do you know what the guidelines are for that religion? Well, nonviolence is one of them.

What I meant by my comment is someone who follows the moral ethics of his religion.

Actualy his cause can be jusified as he is fightng to spread his religion. In the Quarn (correct me if thats the wrong spelling) that's okay

Of course not! However, have you ever encountered something in your life that was fair? After all, some are born rich never going to work a day in their lives and others are born in poverty. The world is not perfect as stated in the Bible but if you still look at it at a secular view, you should be blaming the wealthy for not giving money that they obviously do not need and giving it to the poor. However that is not the case.

Why does he need to answer to you? he can believe in what wants to believe because in a scientific stance we cannot disprove God nor can we prove he exists if you are looking at it in scientific view then he can still believe in Religion. Seriously, you're not dangerous nor are you ignorant if you believe in a God.

Yes. I don't care about the candidate's race, religion, sexual orientation, or anything that pertains to their personal life. I just want them to be qualified for the job.

Well who created their ancestors. And then their ancestor's ancestors? So in a sense, I should worship nothing because supposedly nothing started everything. mig_killer2

There have been athiest presidents, I'm sure. All politicians say they're religious because if they do, athiest usually don't care, but there's a lot more religious people who would not vote for an athiest. They just want more votes.

migkiller, not everything in the Bible can be proven scientifically i.e. The Flood, Jesus' birth, God himself, Jesus' mircales, etc. Can EVERYTHING that evolution says be proven scientifically?

I wouldn't go so far as to say all religion is a mere fantasy conjured up by the minds of men, however I do agree that it should be completely separate from politics given its dogmatic nature.

If the US Presidential candidate for the party you would normally vote for were an atheist, would you still vote for them? I ask this, as I recently found a report that found 52% of Americans wouldn't vote for a well-qualified atheist.Bourbons3
Thats because the majority of people that actually do vote are conservative Christians. As for me, yes I would vote for a well qualified atheist. The religion of a canidate never concerned me, seeing as how I'm not Christian anyways.
