If it shows how they spend money, and they didn't stop it, no, I wouldn't.

Absolutely. It's money - we'll make more. Although: A: I don't intend to get married, and B: It's on the proviso that she's not going to keep making the same mistakes.

I wouldn't give up my soulmate just because they have no money, it worries me that people would.

I think you missed the large debt part. That would cripple both of you.

Yes, although I won't merge our finances or put anything in her name until she sorts that stuff out and pays all her debts.

Define large. If it's college loans, that'd be fine. If she has a habitual need to buy beyond her needs then I likely would not have even dated her for any extended period of time. She must be devoted to Christ and thus not be a materialist.

Possibly. I don't think my soul mate would want to burden me with it and so would choose to get married later. There's no doubt that i'ld stay with her though.

Depends on how large the debt is, how much I love her and if we can pay it or not.

I might one day be that broke soulmate, and I would like my soulmate to marry me despite that, so It'd be pretty hypocritical if I said no. Although I've never really seen marriage as being very necessary, but it would be good as financial matters are concerned.

Will I stick by them? Yes, but before we get married I'd make sure that everything is sorted out and that my potential spouse isn't suffering from gambling addictions or w/e else that leads to large debts.

It's one thing to marry, but you have to look at everyone in the picture like future children. They don't deserve having to suffer for someone's problems. So I say to stick by them and help them out first, THEN marry.

I don't believe my soulmate would be a person to spend themselves into debt.

Of course...how can you even say no? You must be a selfish person if you would dump your SOUL MATE because they have debt.

harperseth

Who said anything about dump? It clearly says would you still marry your soulmate. That doesn't automatically mean the relationship ends because you prefer not to do that when they're flatout broke and in seriously large debt. If anything, how can someone flatout broke and in large debt be anyone's soulmate? Who wakes up and says that my ideal man/woman.

I'm not marrying someone with a huge debt, that would have to get sorted out first-maybe not paid off, but handled to some degree.
