Well this is a no brainer, I'd be disappointed of my child was a racist.

I wouldn't if my child were homosexual.

Someone with delicate sensibilities might think you were equating homosexuality with racism. =P

I've never been able to legally beat up on a racist so if my son or daughter was a racist, I'd finally have my opportunity.

I'd rather a gay child. I would have failed as a parent if my child ever became racist.

The thing about having a racist child is they have the potential to realize the error of their ways eventually. I grew up with several racist family members and friends who hated white people, but their racism was pretty much passed down from generations due to segregation only ending in the US a little over ten years before I was born. I eventually married outside of my race. Of course, they could just stay racist forever and I can disown them for never realizing how dumb it is to be a bigot.

A gay child would only deprive me of grandchildren in many cases. However, just because they are gay doesn't mean they won't still have a child. I knew of one girl in high school who was a proud lesbian and after breaking up with her girlfriend had a one night stand with a guy that got her pregnant. Or they can just resort to artificial insemination with a partner. Also, homosexuality is more accepted in may places. You just have to avoid places where people will use it against you, such as Russia or most Islamic countries.

Between the two, if they will be either gay or racist for life with no chance of changing I would take the gay child. Also, I wouldn't compare racism to homosexuality; one is obviously worse than the other and has no place in a free society.

My children are not gay or racists and thank God they are not Liberals either.

A gay child. I can't imagine anyone answering differently. Homosexuality is becoming more and more accepted, while racism is less and less accepted.

If your child is racist...they probably learned it from you.

Infant children have been known to segregate themselves by race.

Associating with others that look like you is probably programmed somewhere in our brain. I would assume to avoid "outsiders". Now if you're kid is shouting racial slurs...., yeah totally on you.

Homosexuals should be more accepted in the future, so hopefully a potential gay son or daughter wouldn't be bullied. But all the more reason to workout.

Definitely a gay son or daughter. It just sucks what they may have to deal with. But that's society's problem, not theirs.

It looks like the majority of you guys are racist against racists! They didn't choose to be racist, they were born that way! As long as they aren't hurting anyone, then let them be racist in peace.

Darkmark91 hit it right on. That's how dumb gay arguments are. You choose to be gay. Just like you might choose to kill somebody or to choose not to have children. It is not forced upon you by God. Anyway, i'd rather have a racist child than a gay one cause to me, it would be easier to help them out with becoming non-racist. But since I am straight (chose it) then it would be harder for me to watch my child grow up gay. Doesn't mean I wouldn't love them or not bring them up as a Christian. But if they don't change, then when they come of age, out they go...right away. And i'm not even sure how much or if we will communicate much after. I want to be proud of my son/daughter and have grandchildren. And to his first origional comment, I do agree we are all somewhat racist, to a degree.

No. "Aren't we all racist?" is just a statement people use to make their own racism seem more normal/acceptable.

Not that I hate gays or anything, but if I have a son and he turned out gay than he wouldn't have any children of his own ending my bloodline(of course unless I have more than 1 kid).

So as much as people would hate me for this, I would be devastated if my son turned out gay. I wouldn't hate him mind you, unless he is a dick(lol). Man I hope my son doesn't have someone plugging up his exit hole. Btw I highly doubt a son of mine would turn out racist, but it is possible.

I'm not sure how weird this sounds or if I'm the only person who thinks like this, but if I had a son I'd want him to be straight, however if I had a daughter I'd actually strongly prefer her to be a lesbian. My reasoning behind this mostly stems from the fact that I know what teenage guys are like, I used to be one, and I probably wouldn't be able to handle my daughter being involved with teenage guys and I'd constantly feel like kicking their asses.

The only downside to a gay kid would be the lack of biological grandkids from them which honestly isn't that big a deal. If the child was extremely racist and very vocal I'd probably attempt to disassociate with them. I'd rather be around people who I like than those who share my blood.
