The first thing I thought of was the flag but that's not really a word, so after that I thought of freedom.

Is it just me or does it seem like on OT its fairly common to hear Europeans bash the U.S. The U.S. pretty much saved much of Europe from Nazi conquest so Europe should show us some more gratitude.

There was a time when Europe was the dominant region in the world, but they forfeited that position because they allowed their own rivalries to lead to two world wars, the U.S. got sucked into Europe's wars and ended up emerging as the dominant superpower.

@whipassmt: actually people bash the whole world itself, the South and Midwest parts of the U.S would be to blame, Oregeon must be better than the rest of the U.S. Society will always have problems anyways, humanity has never been perfect, but something can be better than another.

@whipassmt: That's what some people said, though I wish I could get some proof, either way, I have a neutral view of the U.S. Plus when I am in either side, people will always be against me. So yeah that's pretty much why.
