I've been learning about the wave nature of electrons in my chemistry class and we went on a slight tangent about waves in general and the various types. I began looking up various things and thought about WiFi and the radiation it gives off, and after some research, it appears it isn't too safe. Check out this video from YouTube. The results are pretty alarming. I personally sit beside a modem at my desk as many people do, and for the past year, have noticed I feel fatigued regularly, and wake up in the middle of the night regularly. I also experience light headaches (very light), but headaches none the less, which I rarely get.

This may raise the question, why now? Why have I only begun experiencing such symptoms? From my knowledge, "radiation tolerance" if you will, is cumulative and once up to a certain point, becomes more than what the body can handle. Perhaps this is why I've felt some symptoms described as electrosensitivity only recently. The world we live in today is full of wireless technologies. I don't mean to come across as paranoid or anything, and I know radiation is everywhere sans wireless technologies.

What do you all make of this? Could this be one of the reasons we're experiencing increases in various diseases, cancers, and disorders? Couple radiation with the sedentary life styles people have, as well as the poor diets of processed foods and it's no wonder health issues have been on the rise.

You're addicted to pr0n? If so, then hopefully you will be able to sort out that problem.

Wifi is in the 1-100 GHz range and has way less energy than visible light. What you're usually worried about is ionizing radiation, or stuff that can give electrons enough energy to become ionized possibly changing stuff around. This is why too much UV exposure can cause skin cancer and you put that thing on when you get X-Rays. Also something to keep in mind is that cell phones actually emit higher energy radiation and you stick it right next to your head. Nobody's conclusively found that they cause issues.

Thanks for showing that. I think it is time I buy another wired router and toss this wifi router that I was about to replace anyways with a new one.

Oh, I see. What does it mean when the router box displays 2.4Ghz?

@r-teest: Ah sorry I meant to type GHz. Look at this picture, lower energy is left and higher energy is right. Giga means 10^9, which is still less than visible light which is in the 400-700 THz range (Tera is 10^12.) Basically what this means is that the radiation from wifi, phones, etc. is of way too low energy to ionize electrons which is what causes cancer and stuff.

And when your router says that it means that it's sending signals with a frequency of 2.4 GHz.

You're welcome. Obviously WiFi exposure is nothing to panic about, it's not like we're all getting cancer from sitting beside it for a day, but it's always good to be aware is all.

It's funny the accumulative effects of WiFi are having an impact on you just as you become aware of the possible heath risks of WiFi. In other words, while I'm not saying wireless tech isn't potentially damaging to your heath, I do think your supposed symptoms are not because you sit next to a wireless modem...

When I asked the rhetorical question "why have I only begun experiencing such symptoms" I meant this past year. I thought I wrote that, but I didn't. Never the less, it could just be all in my head. Also, I'm not attributing it all to WiFi, only acknowledging the fact that it could be one of the factors.

Could be dangerous. Pretty soon a baby in this world will be born with a wi-fi brain. He will be able to communicate and do everything online with his mind. He will be the " One " - the ruler of the Matrix Earth ! Man i'm good, this might be a great movie, lol ..

Isn't Wi-Fi also more dangerous in terms of allowing other people to pick up what you're doing over a connection? Like the stories about people using Wi-Fi in public places like airports, McDonald's and hotel lobbies being more susceptible to data being stolen?

Also I feel that Wi-Fi in places like McDonald's leads to people being less personable, that they would spend their time checking their cellphone or computer instead and would be more likely to ignore other people right near them. Plus it makes it possible for people to be too "connected".

You read about the topic, and simply matched the symptoms with what you have. It's not that you've only just not experienced it, but now that you've been told WIFI causes headaches, whenever you get a headache next to your router, you'll blame that.

You are subjected to MUCH more and more harmful radiation by taking a stroll aroudn the park on a beutiful, sunny day.

Non-ionizing EM radiation cannot harm you in any way shape or form, unless at huge payloads, where thermal damage can occur. So, you know, don't lock yourself in a microwave.

I read this as I was going flaccid and now it starts to raise questions, maybe the government is trying to control us with electrons sent from your own Wi-fi signal to implant in your brain.

What if it was the wi-fi that made you flaccid? O.O

Granite counter-tops give off radiation, more than a lot of electronic devices people keep in their homes. Don't be worried, life on Earth is defined by being exposed to radiation on a daily basis.

Wifi is potentially dangerous, but not in this way. For example, a versed hacker could copy your computer's MAC address, bypass your router security, and upload child porn to a website using your internet connection. What do you do then?
