Why texting is better than talking.

This topic has come up several times before here on OT with many saying that they don't "get" texting, that they don't understand why someone would spend "minutes writing a text, when they could just say the same thing in a few seconds." Well to help those people understand I am going to show them a few graphics that describe accurately why I prefer to text than to talk. Here we go:

I treat phone calls as things that lead to encounters, or more information gathering. I hate having actualy conversations with people over the phone.

nice,although when it comes to girl related conversations,you'd better prefer talking over texts anytime.

It depends on whose calling, but when I want a quick point across without having to Bs much I text. Or sometimes I text like it's a IM service. It really depends on the person though.

That's a pretty funny *** article. I prefer texting by the way. Less awkward silences.

texting is convenient for me. I hate calling someone to ask them a simple question. And I hate talking over the phone to someone. I'd rather talk to someone in person or just text them.

I absolutely hate phone calls. I avoid them with a passion. Seriously, I've had 7 hours of phone calls in the past 12 months on my iPhone, and even less from the home phone. It's a whole lot easier and efficient contacting people through text messages.

The reasons here are represented in a pretty funny way, but texting doesn't quite help you build the social skills you'll probably need later in life.

Texting can be useful, but it shouldn't be relied upon as one's primary means of communication.

i like texting better than talking, but out of the reasons TC posted, only about 1 of them is the same as my reasons for liking it better.

It'skinda sadhow somepeople use texting as a way of conversing. Texting is fine for quick questions and anwers but having a conversation via text is so impersonal that's it's borderline desensitizing.

It doesn't help social experiences, but it is really convenient nonetheless.

I love talking over texting and if it's important or serious i like talking! But if in a place i cant talk on the phone i love texting!
