Nothing. Not big on taking medication for things that will pass on their own. I just get plenty of rest and drink more water than I normally do.

i have tried this before and felt like absolute shit the 2nd day of any cold. quickly took meds after that experience. my brother doesnt take anything for his colds either but he usually has colds for weeks sometimes taking that route.

Mucinex D (the shit you have to sign for at the pharmacy, in US anyway), Dayquil/Nyquil.

Btw, there is zero evidence vit C does anything for a cold before or during it. Still helps to get good nutrition all around while sick to help your body fight.

a second dose of he flu...grrrrr :P j/k.

hot drinks (soup, coffee) and sleep. sometimes halls exta strong sweets.

i only went for something to relieve symptoms once. i kept sneezing or needing to sneeze (i hate when the sensation comes but then i dont actually sneeze) and i had to make that stop before it drove me to madness.

yeah i saw on the news a few years back that there was a new study out that said vitamin c doesnt fight colds as well as they thought it did. i kinda figured that out a long time ago though cause i used to take these vitamin c drops like candy and they did absolutely nothing for me.

I rarely get really sick enough to warrant drugs. But the last time I felt horrible I used Advil cold and flu and slept as much as I could. Felt much better.

Hot tea, cold medicine and lemons when I have soar throat. Though honestly, none of those ever help me, so I just try my hardest to fall asleep. Best medicine is to try to wait it out.

Bed rest is the best way to take care of a flu or cold. But, work and classes always limit the amount of rest I can get. So, I take a couple of Dayquil pills every few hours and limit any talking and interaction with people. I also drink as much warm liquids as I could. As soon as I get home, it's off to bed (in the den futon) for me.

I've been trying to shake off a cold this past two weeks. It's almost gone. But, I had to sacrifice a couple of important exams (no studying) so I can rest. It'll be a steep climb if I still want that A.
