I look good with a little facial hair. Razors make it too short for me. So I use scissors. Works great, only cost me like $2 and no shaving cream. I love it. :P as for who taught me, my brother taught me how to use a razor, how you aren't supposed to go against the hair, etc. But i don't really use razors these days, so...

I'd like to say my dad taught me, but I've never known my real dad since he was just a one-night-stand apparently. I can always pretend.

It's pretty straight forward. You apply shaving cream, right. Then you go ahead and run the blade across your face. If you cut yourself, your applying to much pressure. And that's about it.

Observation of my dad since I was a little kid has taught me that it's not exactly hard to slap some water, cream and a sharp razor on your face repeatedly :P

it's not exactly difficult... it's so simple, i don't even know how someone would go about teaching that

step 1: take sharp object

step 2: scrape hair off with said sharp object

I just found a nose hair trimmer (I know, its kind of weird) and used that until college when I got a normal electric shaver.

Step 1: Rinse face with water Step 2: Lather to-be-shaved areas with shaving cream Step 3: Take razor, pull down in direction of hair Step 4: Rinse razor Step 5: Repeat steps 3 and 4 until facial hair is gone Step 6 (optional): Repeat whole process except this time pull the razor in the direction opposite of that of your hair. This gets you much smoother skin but you're almost guaranteed to cut yourself open a few times in the process Alternatively: Step 1: Take electric razor Step 2: Turn razor on Step 3: ??? Step 4: Profit

I basically learned myself when I hit puberty. Shaving always bothered me. I have very thick beard hairs, and I always had razor burn after shaving. A long time ago, I read an article in Esquire about how to reduce shaving irritation. It goes like this:

  1. Apply a shave oil to soften your beard.
  2. Use a brush to apply cream or soap.
  3. Shave with the grain.
  4. Use a moisturizing aftershave balm.

That's made shaving a fairly pleasurable experience, at the very least pain-free.

I taught myself. You'll cut yourself the first several times for sure. But once you get used to it, its easy. I have to shave every morning, so I BETTER be good or else my face would be covered in band-aids.

I think I basically learned by myself. I used an electric shaver for a while. I was terrified of regular razors cause I thought I'd cut my throat. My electric one died one day so I started to use a regular one. I usually shave with the grain and then again against it to give myself a closer shave.
