These are the top 9 most lovable moderator I seen on Gamespot.
Edit: DigitalDame is not just a Mod but GS community manager so technically, just a GS Staff and she's one of the higher ups.
@dylandr: Did you know that Korvus was not always a mod? Awhile back, he quite on being a mod only because GS users tend to treat few mods crap and he had enough of that. Korvus went back on being a mod a few months back and got over the users crap talk. Thought you might like to know about that. I only know cause 2 years ago, I was lurking on GS before I finally signed up and now, here I am.
I'd like to vote for that Korvus guy, he's an awesome fella...
...
...ah crap, I was supposed to be on my super-secret-sneaky-low profile-alternate account so I could vote for myself!
But seriously, we have quite a few lovely mods that everyone knows here (such as the winner of the OT's Best Mod category Mr @hallenbeck77 =D) but I'd like to mention some people that maybe not a lot of you know about, especially on their work backstage.
@Sefrix: He was the guy who "scouted" me to become a mod and he's such an amazing person. Even with his big family to take care of he always finds time to do his job as a moderator and he's kind of the unofficial mentor to all the newbie mod recruits. He teaches you the ropes, he's always collecting info on the best moderating practices, etc. He always does so much to keep the mod team informed and together. If you see new mods doing their job right, more often than not, you have Sefrix to thank for it.
@robotopbuddy: You guys ask me a technical question I have no idea about? I ask him. I'm unsure what to do about a specific situation? I ask him. Need to confirm a TOS rule? Yep, I ask him. This guy is my (and everybody else's) own wikipedia...he's always willing to help and we need a whole room just to store his brain =P
@DigitalDame: Yeah, we all know Synthia is a Community Manager, we all know she won't take crap from you if you're unwilling to follow the rules but what you guys have no idea about is how hard she works. She's always (weekdays, weekends, holidays...) trying to get the higher-ups to release features that users ask, addressing moderator complaints, user complaints, website problems, you name it...the poor girl is at the bottleneck between us (users and mods) and everybody else...so all the crap that happens here goes through her and she works with such gusto that you can't help but wonder how she doesn't burn out.
@edgework: A special mention here for our "code guy" who seems to be suffering from fever-induced workaholism and been working really hard with us mods to improve the behind-the-scenes of GS...changes are coming slow but they're coming.
@Garfield360UK: Another special mention for this guy who joined when the mod team was pretty much exhausted and tired of you guys (no, not YOU guys, the other guys =P) and his amazing work ethic got everybody working....I remember our report tool was having trouble and it got fixed a day after he joined....there were about 12.000 pending reports (you guys really need to learn how to use the function =P) and between him and I we cleared that sucker in a day.
Lastly, thank you guys for being so nice to me; like @davillain- said, there was a time I stepped down because no matter what we did, users would be against us...we couldn't give our opinion on an article, we'd get flack for being mods, we would ask somebody something as simple as "please don't make huge quote pyramids" and all of a sudden our mother was being insulted and the user would dare us to ban him. Some mods stopped posting in the forums, I tried to endure and ended up snapping at everybody, and since that's not what a mod is supposed to be doing I stepped down for a few months, but a lot of the team wanted me back to I rejoined again a few months later after I murdered a couple dozen sandbags =P
@16:00 CET we will see if korvus really is the most lovable (from this list cus i was to lazy to find all the mod names...)
I is lovable
solidruss has always seemed like good people
10 points and a cookie if anyone can remember the name of the old mate who wore a ninja costume once
Was a mod for quite a long time I believe
I think he quit during one of the April Fools fiascos...
Starts with M? (I think)
A: Mailer_Daemon
I'll give myself the cookie
Thanks for playing
@korvus: Well with 20 minutes to go... how does it feel to be (one of the most) lovable mod(s)?
*Clears throat and puts on interview voice* Well Dylan, it's a...a great honor to be chosen by the people and...it makes me feel quite appreciated but let's not forget that this is a team sport, we all contributed to this win and yes I had my moments and I'm glad the audience enjoyed the way I played but if it wasn't for those guys out there I wouldn't be able to do my job so this accolade actually goes out to all of them and we'll train hard in the off-season so that we can be a strong contender next time as well. Thank you Dylan.
From personal experience, pretty much all of the moderators have been helpful. Korvus seems like a pleasant person, probably the most active i'v seen. Aside from a few people who seem to take things perhaps, a little too personal or serous in regards to a screen with text from people they have never met, most of off-topic is civilized.
From an outside perspective, I imagine system wars volatile nature makes being loved harder, with many users feeling victimized, holding personal grudges with moderators they feel have wronged them. These people probably deserve some props.
Thank you blessed moderators (kiss kiss).
@dylandr: I know you guys only love me for my body...of work.
@Aljosa23: aww, thanks =D
@johnd13: Hey John, you've been quiet lately; we need to catch up!
@korvus, easily. I also find blue_hazy-basic (pretty sure he's a mod) and wasdie to be agreeable, though they're usually on System Wars.
Frankly, since the forums TOS was loosened considerably, it's hard to dislike the moderators.
@bforrester420: Thank you so much, and yes, blue is a mod =)
I'm glad people cut us some slack when we need to moderate though; as I said in a different thread it's not up to us to make the rules but it is up to us to enforce them, so it's always a bit crappy for us to get boo'ed for doing our job (assuming we're doing it properly, that is).
It's also a lot easier to be nice and talk to users when you don't have to constantly moderate them...it gets hard for people to see mods as users when we need to wave the ban hammer around all the time.
This thread makes me feel like I've managed to find a good balance between user and moderator and that makes me happy. Any suggestions on how I can do better are appreciated.

The delivery man will always get more than his share of frustration...
Under the old TOS, it was too easy to get moderated. I can't imagine it was an easy "job" on the old days.
Not sure I can imagine having a Korvus plushie. Now an Allicrombie plushie, those would sell like hotcakes !

Are you sure you weren't just on SW more often than now? Bad jokes aside what made the forums change? I sure don't see any of that now.
