The story is you as the villain fulfilling what you thinks best for you even though it buggers up the rest of the world, like a true villain origin story except your living it. Otherwise it's Scar from Lion King. I mean he wants to save some starving poor animals from death and oppression from the rich, privileged lions who eat other animals as a form of sacrifice because they apparently inherit the whole kingdom from birth, just to eat people. And Disney wanted me to root for them for some strange reason.... Because they sing commercial pop songs?

Complete brain cramp...can't remember any of the ones I really used to like. To me a great villain is the one that makes you unsure whether you really wan to be cheering for the hero. There's been very few occasions of that for me, and all of them in books and anime but due to the sheer amount of stuff I've read and watched anything more than a few years back just gets jumbled up =P I'll just vote for @davillain- then XD

Far from being a hero, He's what we call an Anti-Hero. Judgement Day and Rise of the Machines he still beat up civilians.
