1. Lennon 2. McCartney 3. Harrison 4 .Starr Lennon also had the best solo career after the Beatles. Commander-Gree
That's argueable. I think Paul also had a great career, and I personally prefer his Beatles songs over Lennon's and Harrison's.

I was asking him. I was just wondering what his number one is, after he said "Here Comes The Sun" is his second favorite.Meh, Paul I suppose. My personal appreciation for their music has dwindled as the years have passed. I have an understanding of what they did for music, but listening to their albums now just shows how simplistic it all was. Expertly written and catchy, but still too simple for my taste.
http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/b/beatles/penny_lane_ver3_crd.htm That's a fairly complex chord progression with a nice jazz influence, surprising for a simple catchy pop band. I like to study music theory on guitar and piano and I'm always impressed by what the Beatles were able to do. I think there is much depth to their music and it offers an equal learning experience to that of studying say wes montgomery or Django reinhardt, at least for me.Meh, Paul I suppose. Paul McCartney. IMHO he was just a hair better songwriter than John Lennon. Also his counterpoint bass playing, or "lead bass" as John called it, that he played on the later Beatles albums was pretty revolutionary at the time.
Definitely in the top 10 bassists of all time.
