Kennedy sent troops to Vietnam, or at least special forces units as advisors who were allowed to shoot back if shot at. He was behind the failed Bay of Pigs Invasion of Cuba. It is also alleged that he was a philanderer, just like Clinton was (and was shown to be time and again).
