Make sure it's not fake if you don't want an extra finger.

Look, if you're worried about the fallout from the Fukushima plant, don't be. Even if it does meltdown the effects aren't going to be this far reaching.

Ah no! You remind me of a guy where i used to work who had an extra thumb, and it freaked me out. And he always wanted to shake my hand to scare me.

Buy sheets of roofing lead and lead some solder. You can make your own radiation suit, dress, socks, under-crackers, etc. with that material.

Mutations don't occur after someone has been born.

And why would you want one? The only place it would be really useful is in Chernobyl.

Just do what the Soviets did when they went into Chernobyl and duct tape your ankles and wrists, put a cloth over your mouth and nose, and drink plenty of vodka afterward. There! The radiation, she is defeated.

don't forget to pack extra plutonium.

This kind of suit is an anti-contamination suit, not an anti-radiation suit. Gamma rays can go through plastic and rubber and cloth. Only a lead suit would block all radiation from hitting you, but this kind of suit keeps you from breathing in radioactive particles, or getting them on your skin.

I'm pretty sure that was a joke.

Radiation suit wouldn't help you... Because:

1) If the exposure is high the suit won't stop it anyways...

2) The suits only last so long... So low exposure will still end badly if you don't leave the area...

----

If radiation exposure is something you are worried about then remove yourself from the location... That is about all you can do...
