Their either on strike, or stuck in the old GS Matrix. Let go get them out ! Lol ..

Because this new layout is so damn unappealing, some features that made browsing this site more streamline or seamless are no longer present, and slow server speeds is the reasons why I seldom visit this site now...

Browsing around this site feels as clunky and unintuitive as driving a big ass tank in a very bad war game....

Prolly playin' in the sewer again

#54 Edited by Kats_RK (2077 posts) -

I don't even remember them.

#55 Posted by johnd13 (7356 posts) -

They're probably masturbating.

I'm still here, but probably not for much longer. The new site is an absolute mess, and I would prefer to have the old forums back again.

Lurking like me I assume.

If they had licensed regular forum software like vBullentin, phpBoard or IPB, the forums wouldn't have the bugs it has or be as slow as it is and would have the features we want due to being already built in instead of having to be coded one piece at a time.

I'm still here.

I can't stand how buggy and slow the new forum is, though. Really annoying.

Glad to see you're still around, man. Haven't seen you since the site change.

I'm still here but it doesn't matter because I still lurk way more than I post and nobody even knows who I am.

lol I know who you are, bro.

#63 Posted by megagene (22883 posts) -

@Pirate700: You do?? Well hot damn! That makes it all worthwhile!

*continues to post extremely sporadically*

#64 Edited by OmitName (709 posts) -

maybe gs will make millions licensing out the software once they patch frayed corners.

i had not visited gs for a very long time, and had the pleasure of happening back upon it just before the change over. so i could be around to play along with the new site. its not perfect but it was fun to talk about and see all the new things come into focus. there is still plenty that is looking for its traction, and i'll be glad about it when it does.

@Pirate700: Whoa, really? :P I've been posting slow and steady. Nice to see you here, too!

I'm still here... fresh out of the hyperbolic time chamber from 2003, lol.

#68 Posted by dave123321 (32590 posts) -

I really really don't like the way they alert us to new posts in a thread

Settings > Notifications

I dig it for the most part, could work out well. Less is more sometimes, I prefer the simplicity of it. The previous boards were highly antiquated anyway.

#70 Posted by Capitan_Kid (6444 posts) -

The slowness makes posting here a lot less fun.

mhm

What other things bother in new GS layout dave ? For me no privacy anymore ( everyone can see ones posts ), stacks system, picture uploadings ( you images section getting swamped with any picturues you post ) plus many others.

#72 Posted by OmitName (709 posts) -

notifications did start coming in after a long silence, but are still sporadic for me.

Annoying really. I'd rather have the thread show which we responded in....and new posts.

#74 Posted by LJS9502_basic (148535 posts) -

Anyway indzman to answer your question about OT and regular users.....the forum is practically dead now. The threads are abysmal. No one much responds. Used to be about twenty fast moving viable threads moving and sometimes hard to keep up with all the responses. Now.....minutes....hours....days go by without responses.

The notification system is not as good as the old system that marked what threads you posted in and showed new responses.

And you missed me.....I knew it. ;)

No it isn't Dave.

Wouldn't it be possible to just change the look of the forums, like go back to the old look but the heep the updated interface? I think that would bring back most of the old users.

I know everyone wants to blame the site update....but in all honesty OT died before that happened.

I'll always be here, forever and ever, and ever.

#85 Posted by jimkabrhel (15372 posts) -

I realized that I spend too much time here for my own good, so I'm paring it back. Too many ignorant trolls for my liking, too.

I don't like that either. And I wish they'd implemented a quote cut off rather than fading them.

Retiring from OT at years end

#92 Posted by dave123321 (32590 posts) -

Also it grays out threads where you've seen all the posts. But if you post, you have to enter the thread because it doesn't seem like you are actually seen the updated page after you post.

#93 Edited by WhiteKnight77 (12014 posts) -

This place is slow and not as many people posting. If you look, the last post on the forum page was last posted in over 20 hours ago.

#94 Posted by dave123321 (32590 posts) -

Let's Do something about it

#95 Posted by WhiteKnight77 (12014 posts) -

Dave, until the developers of the website and forums get all the features coded and installed that were part of the old forums, it will get worse as to the number of people remaining here. Neither you nor I can do anything about it except post the bugs or lack of features in the Bug Reporting & Feedback Forum, which I do. It is the first place I visit nowadays instead of OT when I would rather just visit OT.

I lost the desire to post here a long time ago. I only come back now and then because I know that's what my younger self would've wanted.

do not fear, i am here

but only for a short while, because this site layout is like bile.

They're all in a super secret OT and we're not invited.
