Imagine this: You had all the parts to a Mercedez dissassembled, piece by piece, you put them all into one big bag, and shook it up for say, an infinite amount of time. After some time you open the bag to find a Mclaren assembled.

Now, replace Mercedez with life, and all the ingredients necessary. Does it seem possible? No. The Mercedez probability is effectively zero. Therefore life forming on earth is effectively zero. And effectively zero is not a good model for how life came to be.

And so we need to think scientifically. We need a new model. We conclude that maybe design was deliberate. This makes sense. A clock has to be designed, a car has to be designed. So we stick with our designer concept, intelligent design if you will. We test it out.

Life looks well designed. Things are well suited to their environment and what have you. Well, the model is fair. Nothing goes against it so far and thus, we have our theory.

there is probably a special place in hell for people that try to use science to prove god exists.

the whole deal is about faith.

there is probably not a bigger way to screw up religion than by using science to try and make some logical argument.

If science could prove "God" then he/she/it would be nothing more than a part of the natural world, and thus religion/faith would die out.

if i was religious my answer to anybody questioning me about how silly my beliefs would be "**** you the universe is magic and shyt." that is all the justification it takes if you are a true believer.

i can't imagine god hating anything more than this wishy washy ass intelligent design bullshyt.

first and foremost it leaves out faith secondly it makes god look too stupid to  design a system that fits the rules of nature and is undetectable as gods handiwork.

god does not leave proof lying about, how do the religious not get that part?

except the ingredients of life weren't ready-made pieces like the ones in forming a mercedes. instead, they were flexible pieces that managed to shape themselves after million years of trial and error.

What you are saying is actually totally unlogical. becuase based on logic there still is a very small POSSIBILITY that those parts will turn into mercedez. even though very very small possibility.

THAT is your logical proof of God's existence? With that I pretty much can say "When you think about it logically, The Cow that jews worshiped was damn awesome." Are all your believes based on such loose strings?

The problem with your argument is that there are many things in nature that aren't alive that self-assemble. Protiens, lipids, etc.

Is is thought lipids were used by the eariliest life as proto cell walls, and in fact cell walls still have lipid bilayers.

Self-assembly of non-organic molecules in nature is not uncommon.

You understand that humans and other animals didn't just pop into existence, right? So your little example is absurd.
