When did you spread your wings?

I am done with the shit my dad pulls on me as i believe he has something like authism (not a light case)

but i am only 17 years old, so my question is: How old were you when you left your parently house and spreaded your wings to fly your own direction?

Don't remember. Somewhere between 18 and 21 :)

Left at 23, then came back later on... Costs to much, so I'll rather live under their roof and be able to save up money, than having all my money go into someone else pockets.

I was like 21. Lived out with GF for a few years came back at like 25 when we broke up for like 6 months then moved out again. Now I own a house so I think I am good.before we bought our house I we moved back in to my wives parents for a bit. But when her parents got divorced and her dad lost the house he moved into mine so I guess we were even lol. Plus her sister and her bf lived in our house for like a year too.

pros: you mature fast because your parents aren't there to shelter you from life

cons: your peers and friends will seem like toddlers to you after a few months and you'll be like **** em

I came down with bi-polar disorder when I was 23. I had a job where I was next in line to be a manager at a grocery store, I had a fiance, a car and an apartment. I lost it all. It's sort of like going crazy but I don't ever hurt anyone I just say weird things and try to run away. (It's bi-polar) By stable I mean steady on my meds. Social Security finally gave me an Rx card so my prescriptions are free now. So I've been steady for a while now.

I ain't leaving.

I left and shared an apartment with two other dudes when I was 17.

I lived about 4 miles down the road from the University I attended, so I was a commuter student and lived at home. Between my sophomore and junior year, I took a summer internship with a large company, was offered a job when it ended, and moved out of my parents house about 6 months later. I was 20 at the time.

My parents were paying for my college. So, I didn't count college as being independent. My first taste of being away from them is when I joined the AF. After that, I never asked for another cent from my folks.

I'm 22 and still living with my parents , may get independent in 24 or sth .... dunno how one can deal with the attachments ...

Much prefer living with your family? Eh, nothing wrong with that I guess.

I haven't been able to spread my wings yet either, and I actually have no idea when/where an opportunity will come, where I actually will be able to.

Having our own house in this country is much better than renting an apartment and living alone.

When I was 19 I met my boyfriend and more or less lived at his place most of the week.
But I officially left my parent's home when I was 24 and bought my house with my boyfriend.

I was 17 and it was the night of graduation. I had my car packed and headed off to get my own apartment where I was going to business school. I've never moved back home even through some pretty tough times. I love my mom to pieces but we are not meant to live together.

Am I the only one in this topic that wasn't born with wings?

22 and still living with my parents. I'm still a university student so I don't see that changing in the next couple of years and not unless I can get a decent job to support myself.
