Hard to say, I realize their might be a cultural barrier, and some of it is dated anyway were iconic for their time and appeals more to my nostalgia for their times. I'll give some trailers maybe you'll find something you can potentially like.

If you're open to 80s films, I'd start with:

  • Goonies, because nearly anything Steven Spielberg has his name attached to you should watch.
  • Just One Of the Guys. I didn't see this until maybe mid-90s when they played it all the time on cable, but I loved it.
  • If you're still open to 80s comedies I'd try Can't Buy Me Love, and if you like that one do Loverboynext, or vice versa, they're both Patrick Dempsey romantic comedies. I didn't see Hairspray (1988 version) until years later, but I really liked it.
  • and what the hell, Weird Science, because when does John Hughes disappoint?

For everything else, I'd narrow it down slightly to:

  • Go (1999), some reason everybody I've shown this to had a blast.
  • Rushmore, has a young Jason Schwartzman, and that kid from Dennis the Menace, and was the film that put Wes Anderson on my radar, also the start of a good working relationship with Bill Murry, and if you enjoy it then I'd suggest you try other Wes Anderson movies like Life Aquatic, Royal Tenenbaums, Darjeeling Limited, Moonrise Kingdom.
  • Outside Providence, was a fun one, a Farley brother's produced film (Dumb & Dumber, Something About Mary, Me Myself & Irene) about a kind of burnt out teen who gets into trouble with his delinquent friends and forced into a prestigious boarding school as a form of probation, and he has some difficulties fitting in; I recommend this one.
  • Josie and the Pussycats, this is an interesting one since it's satirical of 90s pop-culture and conspiracy theories, it also has an interesting cast such as Rachel Lee Cook at the end of her career, Rosario Dawson toward her up and coming, and Tara Reid whose fame was short live, and it also has Parker Posey, who is just adorable in everything.
  • Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre come form writer and director Jared Hess. The humor is very subtle and slow but they kind of developed a cult status. If you watch one of these and like it, watch the other, and if not, don't bother with the other.
  • Ghost World, this is probably the closest thing to a real like version of a Daria film. Has child star Thora Birch who's career peaked with American Beauty giving her cult classic indie swan song. Though, it's actress Scarlett Johansson's breakout roll too. Worth a shot.

Thanks a lot for taking your time to explain those movies, i saw Goonies. Kinda interested in Napolean dynamite and Nacho Libre, might try them for starters.

Thanks again :)

Scott Pilgrim is easily the best, granted that movie was pretty much made for me.

Not Another Teen Movie is also pretty solid. Miss the times when there was actually good spoof movies...
