Poll What word do you use for 'soft drinks'? (62 votes)
I live in Tennessee, and I call it soda.
I am curious as to what others call it. I wanna see the statistics. It would help if you note your general location as well.

Soda
had a friend who used to call it "Soda Water" when i lived in Texas.
I have a co-worker from Texas who calls it "soda water".
I call it "pop", and I live in Minnesota where many others call it that. I've heard people call "pop" a dumb word for soft drinks, but "soda water" sounds fucking terrible. It's even worse than referring to all soft drinks as "Coke".
Pop is use by weird people in america and canada. Not very many people use pop.
You obviously don't live in Minnesota (or anywhere in the upper Midwest for that matter). :P
@thegerg: I wasn't confused about why people used it, I was confused about why they used it
wat?
Gosh. I know that it's a regional thing and that it's widespread because of how it was used when they were growing up. I question the logic of why it makes any sense to use it in that way. Thegerg simply can't think in multiple levels
I clicked on this thread for the sole purpose of seeing how people could possibly turn this into an argument. Congratulations. This is the dumbest argument on the internet.
As for participating in the thread -- I call soda "poison."
@thegerg: I don't think you understand the actual topic at hand with regards to what logic is being talked about
@thegerg: I can't explain such a simple concept in a different way. It's not a simple thing to teach you how to process events like a normal human being.
Depends where I am at. With my mom I say soda but with a Mexican accent. When I'm with my friends or the rest of the family I say pop. In restaurants I call them drinks or by brand name.
