Mine was Prison Break season 4 DVD set back in the summer of 2009 I think.. what about you?
I picked up the box set of the original TMNT animated series from the '80s. (Don't judge). I'm surprised it not on streaming anywhere (Stop judging me), so I ordered it off Amazon for $25. (Quit judging me!)
As I look over my rack of film(s) I think it was The Eurocrypt of Christopher Lee Collection and/or the last Halloween 4K.
Ooof, man...I don't know.
I think maybe 9 years ago I got a Blu-ray player on a whim and I was set on "collecting" movies but that didn't last long. I guess Avatar might have been the last thing I picked up on physical media?

My dude I am judging the hell out of you. I judge thee....worthy!
@warmblur:
I'm all digital with that these days. I thought everyone else was too. 🤔
Love the digital age of being able to watch just about anything online, however some movies are just worth having. Sentimental value I suppose, or because you want to be able to watch without required internet connection . I have at most half a dozen physical copies now.
Gosh I can't even remember TBH. I have bought seasons of shows over the years digitally but last physical box sets, hmm, can't recall.
@The_Vampress:
I guess that depends on how much you like to watch movies, in general. I rarely do anymore as it is. So for me: it doesn't really matter if I actually own the movie or show. I would only watch it like, one time, anyway.

Yup. Not to mention there's still a lot of older shows & movies that aren't available to stream or download. Or if a company does a special release of a movie, I'll grab the physical version; The Criterion Collection just released a 4K version of Shaft (1971) that I'll get eventually.
Last physical movie I bought was The Batman (Blu-Ray)
For TV? Yu Yu Hakusho Season 4 (DVD). Just waiting for it to arrive.
Spider-Man: No Way Home. Going to pick up Dr. Strange Multiverse of Madness next when it comes out on blu-ray next month. I still buy all my movies and such on physical format.

Bro, I have Mighty Morphin and RPM seasons of Power Rangers on DVD. I wouldn't have the room to judge.

I have a few episodes of TMNT recorded on a VHS somewhere in the house. But no way to play it. :(
From the month's Barnes and Noble Criterion sale. Tried to pick titles that aren't that popular and so probably wouldn't make it to 4K any time soon. Pale Flower and Vengeance Is Mine should be fine, since Criterion barely releases any Japanese oldies anymore. Not like they used to.
I bought the old VHS-tape of SAVING PRIVATE RYAN on amazon for 2 bucks while i legaly downloaded the UHD-Version from an illegal warez-site.
Dr. Strange Multiverse of Madness. I thought I would get it early from Disney Movie Club but got it yesterday in the mail. Really good movie and can't wait for the next movie or what happens to Dr. Strange.
German import in the 3x3. Already have Melancholia, but haven't seen the Director's Cut of Nymphomaniac or the two other Lars von Trier movies there. M is apparently more complete than the Criterion version. Howard's End is said to have German titles for the locations and stuff, unfortunately. The Children's Hour in the top right is out of print in America. Liked the DVD about a year ago. I don't expect that Roman Polanski movie with Sigourney Weaver to be released in America, since he has been cancelled. In a Year with Thirteen Moons in the bottom left is probably the last Rainer Werner Fassbinder movie I'll buy. Collection is pretty good now. The other German movies were recommended to me a few years ago. I waited so long that some others are no longer available.
Little Mermaid Limited Issue DVD was so that I could sync the audio to the 4K. I also synced the LaserDisc and replaced the crappy thumbnail of human Ariel and the prince sitting in the boat together with the original poster, cropped and resized to standard Blu-ray thumbnail dimensions of 640x360. Each sync took about ninety minutes.
last recent movie i got for DVD is the 2 disc dvd collectors edition of Star Trek First Contact.
then later this week or weekend im going to Walmar to get some horror movies that have newer glow in the dark slipcovers like Rob Zombie's Halloween movies
13.8 GB for the two hour Der Teufels General? 12.8 GB for the 1 hr 55 min Vier Minuten? 17.8 GB for the 2 and a half hour Nymphomaniac, when the American disc is on a BD-50? 1 hr 52 min M at only 12.9 GB? In einem Jahr mit 13 Monden, The Children's Hour and Death and the Maiden are on BD-50s. Es geschah am hellichten Tag at least uses the BD-25 well, at 18.1 GB for 99 minutes. And Howard's End has a video bitrate of 61 Mbps. But I didn't know the Germans who generally such cheap-asses with Blu-ray.
I would have just imported the standalone Dogville if I knew all the von Trier movies were so compressed. The total size of Dogville's m2ts containing the movie is 42.4 GB! Why couldn't they be that nice to the others? Melancholia is also on a BD-25, but on a BD-50 in America. Still need to check The House That Jack Built, which I could have gotten American as well.
