Yes we are past the criticism stage, and you can call me a kid to your heart content. Dude, let me tell you...as someone who works in the sporting goods industry, the shoes just keep getting uglier and uglier. It's unbelievable how hideous some of the athletic shoes coming out are now.

Where did you come up with that crap? I do this stuff for a living. Running shoes are sold as fashion statements far more than for actual exercise.

The primary function of an athletic shoe is no different now to when it was first invented. The whole fashion aspect was added to make trainers appealing to the general public because, and I'll say this slowly...they're...not...athletes. It's a marketing ploy. You're not very bright.

I only ever wear skate trainers. Not that I skate any more, it's just a comfort thing.

You said athletic shoes are not designed to be fashionable. They are. Being fashionable is every bit as important, if not more so than how they perform for sales. Many "athletic" shoes are completely fashion-first now.
