Nice choice they where really great in that time.
As of right now.
White Zombie early 90's La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Volume One era.
NIN Pretty Hate Machine era
Marilyn Manson Antichrist Superstar era
That is such a broad genre that includes so many sub-genres, I don't even know where to begin.
*sigh* Guess I will go by category? More mainstream stuff, too, I guess.
Grunge:
Progressive Rock and Alt Metal:
Alt-rock, Post-punk, etc.:
I think I am just going to stop here for now haha
1.AC/DC
2.Iron Maiden
3.Ozzy Osbourne
4.Led Zeppelin
5.The Doors
6.Ramones
7.Rammstein
Those are my top 7. There are a lot more, but basically those are my picks, especially AC/DC being my favourite.
Well, Judas Priest for one. Hence my username.
This could turn into such a long list, so I think I will just say my favorite band of all time is Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. Because greatness is measured by the number of adjectives in your genre. Progressive-avant guard-indie rock-metal.
Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osbourne and White Zombie/Rob Zombie come to mind. I also like AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Alice In Chains, Bon Jovi, Stryper, Nirvana, Shinedown(first 3 albums), Thin Lizzy, Queen, Bush, Collective Soul, Judas Priest, The Scorpions, etc.
THE CURE, Joy Division, Depeche Mode, Placebo, The Clash, Psychedelic Furs, Nine Inch Nails, Echo & the Bunnymen, The Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Editors, New Order, David Bowie, Death Cab for Cutie, Muse, Bloc Party, Snow Patrol, Stone Temple Pilots, Interpol, Social Distortion, The Cruxshadows, The Church, The Waterboys, U2, The Mission, Sisters of Mercy, The Black Keys, Nick Drake, Foo Fighters, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Thin Lizzy, Eagles, Faces, Judas Priest, Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, Cocteau Twins, Bauhaus, Dinosaur Jr, Portishead, Mazzy Star, Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys, Audioslave, The Doors, Massive Attack, Sonic Youth, Jesus ad Mary Chain, etc.......
To sum it up...…...THE CURE!
@LJS9502_basic: heard of the Cure, never got to really listen to their music, ill def give them a listen
High School late 70's: Led Zeppelin, Rush, The Cars (first 2 albums), The Clash (anything before Combat Rock), Wire (first 3 albums are Masterpieces)
In the 80's: Husker Du, The Replacements, REM (I was there from the start, up to Green), Echo and the Bunnymen, Jesus and Mary Chain, Cocteau Twins, The Pixies, The Stone Roses

Crap forgot The Pixies and The Stone Roses.
#1 Will always be the Beatles, but disregarding them I'll split it off by genre.
Metal: Sacramentum, Morbid, Black Sabbath, Gojira, Macabre, and Xasthur are some favorites
Alternative/Indie/Baroque: Any band Jack White has touched, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Sparklehorse, TV on the Radio, Radiohead, Tom Waits, Sufjan Stevens, The Antlers, Jason Molina
Punk: RDP, Guerilla Puebelle, Days n Daze, The Taxpayers, Screeching Weasel, AJJ
Classic Rock: Phil Ochs, Neil Young, The Beatles and their solo work, Leonard Cohen, Cass Elliot, Fleetwood Mac
The list is nearly endless but those are just a few favorites.
TOOL and Queen
Runners up would be Avenge Sevenfold, Of Mice and Men, Asking Alexandria, I Prevail, The Hu, A Perfect Circle, Bad Wolves
Dead Sara is the best, and also most underrated rock band working today. I can think of two songs of theirs I don't particularly care for, but apart from that, every single one is awesome. Seeing them live a few years ago felt like a borderline religious experience, too, they absolutely killed it.
Linkin Park and Our Lady Peace are the two definitive bands of my teenage years. They changed enough throughout the years to make me keep listening to them.
Since then, it's been very rare that I love a band enough to go through its entire discography, but some of the bands that have some of my favourite songs include:
- Muse
- Arcade Fire
- The Album Leaf
- God is an Astronaut
- Sigur Ros
- Moist
- Sam Roberts Band
- Mogwai
- The Killers
