American Hustle

Her

Wolf of Wall St.

Inside Llewyn Davis

Dallas Buyers Club

Honorable mentions would be: Saving Mr. Banks and The Place Beyond the Pines.

I have yet to see 12 Years a Slave, Nebraska, or Blue is the Warmest Color.

EDIT: Have since seen 12 Years and Nebraska. 12 Years a Slave is definitely securely in my top 5 now. Nebraska was really really great as well.

I only watched two movies in theaters during all of 2013:

Star Trek Into Darkness

The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug

Both were okay.

But i also HAVE to mention 'Prisoners', 'Upstream Colour', 'The Way Way Back' and 'The Hobbit' Not to mantion the countless ones i need to catch up on, the likes of 'Captain Philips', 'Frances Ha', 'The Selfish Giant', 'Kill Your Darlings', 'Her' and 'A Field in England'.

I've seen all of one movie that game out in 2013, Anchorman 2.

Movies suck these days. Superheros are lame, dramas are largely depressing, and action movies (outside of superheros) are played-out. If it doesn't make me laugh, I don't have much interest.
