I need some ideas for a party theme.

Have any of you hosted or been to a party with a kickass theme? How was it?

thinking about finding board games or those electronic games like Catch Phrase or Bop-It and some card games, but I need a cool theme because parties without themes blow.

1920's speakeasy. People dressed for the part in a dark, smoke filled room with jazz playing in the background with no shortage of booze. ;)

They would do this thing where everybody dressed up like they were in school. They girls would wear the school girl skirts and the guys would dress nerdy.

Exactly.... what kind of party are you going after? Board games, I'm assuming you're not doing a party and rather more of a friendly gathering, which wouldn't require a theme. That or a kid's party. More context, please.

@MysteryJ0ker: it's more like the friendly gathering you're describing. I disagree though, a theme can totally help a party even if is small.

plus it makes it easier to get people to actually come in past experiences.

I'd vote for something casual then. A friendly gathering wouldn't need that big of a theme, otherwise it would be odd. But, never can go wrong with a Hawaiian theme, as cliche as that is.

That sounds awesome, a cyberpunk club would be the only type of club I would ever willingly go to.

80s.

We've had a few of these, IMO turned out to be the best parties we ever threw. Something about 80's music/clothes really brings out the party animal in people :P
