What do you do about compulsive liars?

I have a niece that is a compulsive liar. She makes up lies about how she gets pregnant then later gets a miscarriage. Most of what she says is a lie. This year she must have said she got pregnant at least 3 times.

On Facebook she posts lies all the time. What do you do about compulsive liars?

I made a comment on her post that she was never pregnant and her cousin got mad at me for saying that. I think its best to avoid compulsive liars.

I don't hang around with them...

Nothing. One of my best friends growing up became a big time liar in high school. Most of the lies were so absurd though, all I could do is laugh and nod my head.

If My mom asked me if I do my homework I would normally say yes just to get her off my back. Now I just say the truth, that I havent done it yet.

I had that problem of lying when it came to not having to embarrass myself. That said, it's not worth it because it causes more problems than solutions and does give a bad image of yourself to others. I'm serious when I say this but the saying goes, "..and the truth will set you free." Honesty and truthfulness works all the time (or at least 90% of the time). The other 10%, depending on the circumstances, it's probably best not to say a word or deny everything.

Dang I know I'm not the most popular fish in the sea and up to date on what is "cool" at all times, but since when was getting pregnant multiple times something to brag about, get attention for, or sympathy from?

If I wanted attention, I don't think the first thing I would do is go on Facebook and make myself look like a piece of sh-t skank... Granted some girls want to "look" like skanks... Appearance wise... But to actually imply that you are a skank who gets knocked up all the damn time... What?

I know a couple and keep them at a safe distance. One is particularly horrible at it, like they're not even trying anymore, so it won't be long until we've completely stopped speaking.

I hate them, I stay away from them.

Eh, just humor them and go along with it.......Some extremely funny $hit can come up..........

Nothing you really can do, they will lie, lie and keep lying. I know a few. I don't like being around them at all and avoid talking to them.

my sister tells lies pretty much all the time.

its so bad now, we dont believe anything she says, at all.

even when she is in danger of getting arrested, she stills decides to tell us lies and such.

due to her lies, shes basically thrown away her life.

but in the end, the truth always comes out.

In primary school I had a friend that said all kinds of lies to draw attention. He would make up stories about his family (like his father was playing professional football in the past and great clubs were interested in him) or pretend that he was hurt after faking a fall from stairs. It was so hilarious and pathetic lol.

make their lies happen so they'd have to face with the real consequences of such claim.i think you know what should be done now TC.

I don't see that girl anymore, she moved to a different school in HS. Glad I don't see her anymore! My mum couldn't stand her, lol
