What are your pet peeves? Episode: 12,765

I hate it when I'm told to JUST be confident or "be myself" if I happen to be in a conversation about getting a girlfriend. Yes, because I can just magically pull confidence out of my ass and I'll be good. I never understood the meaning of "just be yourself", either. And if I somehow tried, I'd probably have a 100% failure rate. Cracked does a good job on this subject; read entries two and three if you're interested.

I can relate to this:

"Reach age 12 or 13 and see a group of females give you the same look they give to a spider they found in the bathtub. Go back and get familiar with that body language that says, "No one will be happy or relaxed until you leave." Go back and live your life in a universe that bites your hand when you try to reach out to it. Then see what your confidence is like at age 23".

That was just poking fun at the considerable number of pet peeve threads that exist.

Liars, whiners, holier-than-thou people, keyboard warriors.

And then some temporary ones. Recently it's fucking annoying youtube "internet animal rights defenders" crowd. In case you're wondering what that is, it's people who think everything is animal abuse.

Video of a kitten tangled in a ball of yarn - "OMG, instead of filming the kitten in suffering go help him you prick!!"

Video of a guy tickling his puppy - "Can't you see he hates it? How can you be so cruel? You should get AIDS!"

Video of a girl playfully wrestling her dog - "You fucking bitch! How can you be hurting that beautiful dog! I hope you die!!"

Comments like that make my IQ drop (even further!)

They must have increased in numbers since last time I posted here frequently :P

One I have, and I know I have been guilty of it as well. It's people only reading up on one side of a story/discussion and then refuses to acknowledge any counter points given.

People who do not understand what a troll is, especially when their definition is " people who do not agree with me, especially when they are willing to argue their positions."

As for the definition of trolling I like to use this example. If someone here on GS (the poster crushmaster comes to mind) states an unpopular opinion about religion or sexuality and the thread turns into a flame war, if the person behind the keyboard truly thinks whatever to be true, its NOT trolling, it may be dumb, closeminded and deserve you derision and scorn, but it is not Trolling.

Trolling is the same post from the guy who knows what way gamespot rolls and writes the same post not out of any actual misguided attempt to reinforce his beliefs, but because he knows the atheist/gay friendly majority will have a shit fit and the more they do the more increasingly ignorant to the users (because sometimes the target is ignorant also) to get reactions.

I know that seems clear and simple but I cannot count the amount of times I have seen the term thrown at people just for disagreeing, or even worse gosh having the nerve to actively disagree with someone and let them know you disagree and why.

My list is quite broad, but here are a few I can't stand:

-People that will walk around corners while looking another way and then walk right the F into you. (Watch where you're going, asshat! There is nothing that warrants your immediate attention in the other direction, so pay attention!)

-People that break appliances (Anyone that's ever worked in an office with others knows what I'm talking about. How the hell does one break a toaster??)

-Puerto Rican and hardcore Rap music

-Idiot parents that don't take care of their children properly (No, a leash does NOT belong on your kid)

-Every other driver on the road but me

-Old people at the supermarket

-Everything going "bi-lingual" (Spanish) in America nowadays

I got told I'm going somewhere for a few months in less than a week and a half because the other 4 alternates (I wasn't even one) couldn't do it because.....well......yeah. Two had leave planned in advance so there's just no way they could it. One said his brother has graduation so he's just swamped with busy activities. Oh lord! Getting thrown under a big fucking bus is fun.

Scratcher/Lottery people who hold up the line all the time.

People who take up two parking spaces.

Vending machines that steal your money.

Guys wearing girl's jeans.

Neighbor's annoying car alarm that goes off every time another car passes by.

Loud bikes/choppers.

Selfies.

People who make noises with their mouths while eating or just outright eat with their mouths open make me homicidal.

Smoking, tattoos, murderers, thieves, musicians that follow modern mainstream trends, people that care about nothing but themselves, people that smell bad, racism, people that bash others because of their religion, fake people, etc.
