I hope you realize that doing so would validate what THEY did. People need to step back and take the high road on this one. Because think of the message it sends when people criticize the WBC for picketting funerals, and then those same critics picket the funeral of the WBC leader. If what they're doing is so freaking bad, then don't you do it too.

While this is perhaps a natural thought to have, anyone who actually does this is basically demonstrating that under different circumstances they are capable of hateful acts WBC commits regularly.

There would be a kind of poetic irony to this. I'd laugh, to be honest.

His passing is a sad one, for a life of his length was marked with such bitter hatred that i pity the man. To live every day of your life, hating a majority of your neighbors for such hollow reasons. It's truly hell.

And please don't picket his funeral or support the idea. Why one would joyfully stoop to the level of something they despise is questioning.

Man, I'm sorry but it really infuriates me when I read comments on FB or on articles about this story about how "WBC doesn't represent real Christians". If anything, they know the bible better than most christians. Don't get me started on the whole "out of context" deal because they seem to know whole chapters from the top of their head.

When it comes to holy books it's not just about knowing them, but interpretation.

The views of WBC certainly aren't common among most clergy or biblical scholars. I'm sure The Pope knows the Bible very well, but he would certainly take issue with their hermeneutics.

Interpretation just leads to more problems and conflict. "No, this really means this. No no no, it means this". The different sects can't even agree on one single interpretation.

Yes, because society as a collective whole has evolved, yet the religious folk have hijacked (for lack of a better word) modern values and beliefs. They think that the reason people today act "good" is because of religion, when its not. They interpret the bible to say things like "equality" and "peace and love" when in fact the bible only talks about god's elect, and jesus' followers.

Just because they quote direct passages doesn't mean jack. They do a terrible job interpreting the Bible. Almost all of Christianity can't stand that church. To say they represent most Christians is laughable at best.
