Poll Were you even going to watch The Interview? (8 votes)

Yes 75%
No 75%

This whole controversy with North Korea and The Interview has been literally everywhere for the past week and everyone has kind of jumped on the band wagon. I understand that it is a big deal since I and a lot of other people hate censorship and I find it amazing that Sony and Movie theatre chains dropped the movie to stupid threats.

But were you even going to watch The Interview? Again, I understand that it is a big deal but do you even care that you may not ever see this movie? Personally, I don't really care, I like James Franco but it wasn't on my priority to watch the movie. But despite that, I would love to know your thoughts!

I probably and unfortunately would have seen it at some point. I don't find James Franco and Seth Rogen comedies very funny.

I have more of an issue of a movie being pulled that people want to see than actually seeing the movie myself but yet, I did plan on seeing it.

I was going to go see it based on the strength of Pineapple Express and This is the End.

And if I want to see a steaming pile of shit that is my right as an American. If I wanted someone telling me I couldn't see a movie I would live in North Korea.

No. It looked stupid. I wasn't going to see it and I'm still not going to once they release it.

yes DPRK is one of my favorite topics. I am sure the movie is stupid and filled with imperialist lies. But its always fun to have a good lol even if you don't take it seriously.

Well, I can't say for certain. Saying for certain would require me being able to see the future.

I will say that I was not PLANNING on seeing the movie.

Sony and their lawyers claimed they do intend to release it. There were reports yesterday that they'd do so on their own video streaming platform Crackle.

Yes. I probably wouldn't have watched it in the theater and would have most likely caught it on Netflix or Amazon since outside of a few big name films I rarely watch a movie in the theater anymore. Last movie I watched in the theater was Mockingjay and before that it was Guardians of the Galaxy.

Regardless of the quality of the film, with North Korea being able to successfully threaten a private company out of releasing a film they didn't like it may cause a trend. Movie makers may be less likely to make controversial movies out of fears of people who may be offended threatening them into not releasing them.

That I could see happening considering nobody even knows what Crackle is, North Korea definitely won't see it there. Although to be honest with a little work Crackle could become a decent service. I'd be alright seeing it released there, so long as they don't implement a paid subscription necessity to watch it.

Yes I actually wanted to see the movie. Rogan and Franco are a pretty damn good comedy duo IMO.

No, it looked like trash right from the first trailer. The controversy doesn't change that.
