"The same folks Brazile was referring to when she was campaign manager for Gore/Lieberman's 2000 run for the White House. The quote then was: "We're not going to let the white boys win."

I think Brazile was probably trying to make a political point that Bush and Cheney would entrench "white privilege" or some junk like that. Of course Bush ended up appointing the first black secretary of state and then the first black female secretary of state.
