He's bitter because he just got his thread locked. Given the fact that OT sees 2 or 3 threads about homosexuality a day, one would think he would realise that his thread didn't get locked because it was about homosexuality, but because of how he chose to approach it...guess not, though.

You bet im bitter. My thread gets locked after six posts with no explanation or word back from the mod who locked it. Just locks and leaves.. I chose to compose that thread in that manner because that is the question my homosexual friend asked and what followed was a deep conversion about that particular subject. I was simply trying to expand the conversation to see what the thoughts of a larger group of people would be. Hallenbeck had no right to lock that topic. I expressed my view in a clear, unbiased, non trolling manner. Shit just went south faster then any topic ive seen here in OT before.

But hey, o well.. f*** it, right?

Anyway... apologies. Forget I even bothered. On with the current topic...

...really? you're surprised that a thread titled "Why do homosexuals have to be so gay?" was locked?

@indzman: what the hell? Is america that much of a bigot that they ban gay people from donating blood? How fucking stupid...

Take a look at the numbers above posted by Master_Live...there is a damn good reason for it. Has nothing to do with being a bigot and has everything to do with the testing not being 100%. Man you liberals think everything is about gays being mistreated.

actually that's not the reason

also, the AMA opposes the FDA's ban on allowing MSM blood donations

Whats the reason?

IMO the numbers shown above are more than reason enough.

that there shouldn't be a blanket ban, rather each person should be treated as an individual

"The lifetime ban on blood donation for men who have sex with men is discriminatory and not based on sound science," AMA Board of Trustees member William Kobler, MD, said in a statement. "This new policy urges a federal policy change to ensure blood donation bans or deferrals are applied to donors according to their individual level of risk and are not based on sexual orientation alone."

This is news to me.

I can't donate blood because I live in Europe for 5 years as a child and might have been exposed to mad cow disease.

Experience. Look at the definition: "light hearted and carefree". Then look at the LGBT community and all they're involved in and you'll see they're anything but "carefree".

so you're applying the actions of one vocal group of people to an entire community?

Reminded of this quote from noscope:

"Talking with you gays makes one thing clear your on some F the world type stuff. If this does not work out then what is next guns ??

Will you become terrorist blowing up kids and old people as long as you get your way. Where is the end in your single minded pursuit of rights for gays. Where does the slippery slope end. I know F me your a freedom fighter and your cause is just. It is us against the world who is holding us back huh. Clearly logic has no place here so I am done."

@dave123321: Are you suggesting that no one else here generalizes when it comes to a particular group?

@vl4d_l3nin: So, you would disagree and say that most gays are in fact true to the definition of "gay"? Wouldn't that be speculation on your part also? I guess there is no real way to know for sure if the term aptly describes their lifestyle. I guess it is speculation according to my experience with that particular group.

I didn't say anything about gay people.

Of course you can't use a single term to describe and entire group of people. That's why the term "gay" is just a reapprobation.

Yes, it is speculation, based on nothing more than a claim of "experience with that particular group", whatever that means.

He compared me to "one of those atheists", which would put me in the group that he basically made a generalization about.

Yeah, I'm bored now. Can we move onto something else?

I guess as much of a bigot and stupid as the Germans.

"In Germany, a petition is circulating to collect 50,000 signatures to force a review of the indefinite deferral rule by the powerful German Medical Association—lawmakers’ go-to organization when it comes to health policy. Matthias Schmidt, creative director of DDB Tribal Berlin, the agency leading the campaign, says the policy was at odds with Germany’s otherwise sexually liberal thinking."
