The whole why do Breaking Bad fans hate Skyler thread reminded me of a conversation I once had with someone about how rare it is for someone's favorite character on a tv show to be female. For funsies list as many shows you can think of where your favorite character was a female.

I'm not sure if I have a favorite character in American Horror Story but the female characters are generally better than the male ones.

american horror story- all of jessica lange's characters were amazing.

The show "Girls" on HBO. Love it, love all the characters, I find the show to be clever and hilarious. Very well written.

First season I would agree. I'm two episodes into Asylum right now and James Cromwell is proving to be the more interesting character.

I love Girls too but funnily enough my favorite character is Adam.

I don't think I can name one show. Though I am watching Girls and find it very good, only on the second episode, so haven't made a decision on the the characters.

Alice from Workaholics is the only one that comes to mind. That said, Im not really a fan of the the show itself.

Mad Men - Peggy. It's kind of a tie between her and Don though honestly.

I find Sansa a more interesting and more likable character than Dany. Dany's okay, but she's better in the books than in the tv show. Dany's kind of just a power fantasy character (and she's melodramatic and has a massive ego), whereas I think Sansa has more interesting conflicts and character development.

I think Dany is better written in the books but more likable in the show. The way she swoons over Daario in the book (the stupid f*cking gold toothed, rainbow haired moron) annoys the hell out of me. She comes off as much more mature in the show, which I like. My favorite female characters from the show and books are probably Brienne, Loras and Asha.

Fringe, Parks and Rec, 30 Rock, Community, Game of Thrones, The Office.

Xena...great character.
