Donald Trump would not rule out tracking Muslim Americans in a database or giving them “a special form of identification that noted their religion”, the Republican presidential candidate said on Thursday.

“We’re going to have to do things that were frankly unthinkable a year ago,” Trump told Yahoo news reports in an interview.

“Some people are going to be upset about it, but I think that now everybody is feeling that security is going to rule.”

He said he would consider warrantless searches of Muslims and increased surveillance of mosques. “Certain things will be done that we never thought would happen in this country in terms of information and learning about the enemy.”

Source.

Your link doesn't work. While This wouldn't surprise me with the way the right has been dipping it's toes into the metaphorical nazi pool lately, I need some evidence.

Holy shit, he stopped walking the thin line between nazi and conservative and just went full adolf.

Special ID? You mean the like the star that jews had to wear, and the pink triangle gays had to wear?

Anybody who defends this is a piece of shit.

Minus people being made to wear some sort of symbol, our government already watches members of this religion very closely. Whether or not anyone in the government admits it is another story.

The GOP is the worst type of big government. It doesn't matter who the candidates are and even then, Donald Trump's majority support is further proof of the dangers of populism in our country.

Ummm. Aren't refugees in the US already in a database along with DNA and fingerprinting?

I mean legal immigrants are already in the same boat plus they have green cards that identify them as Resident Aliens. They have to carry the green cards in their person until they attain US citizenship.

I certainly disagree with the surveillance part although I'm sure that's already being done (incognito) as well.

I honestly doubt forcing US citizens to carry a special ID card based on their religion would be enforceable. All naturalized Americans? Maybe. Just one group? Nah.

Between this and Ben Carson calling some of the refugees "rabid dogs", the leading GOP Presidential candidates are on a roll.

Another reason not to vote for Trump.....crazy how a guy like Kasich, who seems more presidential than any of the other Republicans, can't even muster 5% of the vote.

Oh well, Hillary for president.

The ones that are are either not running or losing so badly nobody talks about them. There's a lot of paranoia in the US today and they're capitalizing on it.

His poll numbers have been growing since the big hubaloo in France.

He will be the next president, thank God.

He's the first since Regan to have so many Democrats vote Republican.

He's in the lead followed by Ben Carson. While it's early in the election, the fact that they both have a majority support from the GOP is disturbing as hell.

Maybe he is a troll but the people that are falling for it are what concerns me the most.

They've tripped dozens of time each. Their base is just out of control at this point.

Trump suggests a policy that mirrors that of the Nazis and they just eat it up.

Hilary might not be amazing, but I'll take her over racist psychos.

I just woke up and this is what I started my day with; I wish I stayed in bed a little longer. At first I thought this is about the usual Republican rhetoric about restoring America's "true Christian identity", but then the article started with:

"As part of a broad national security plan to defeat ISIS, Republican Presidential candidate John Kasich proposed creating a new government agency to push Judeo-Christian values around the world."

I literally said "wut". But yea, the plot thickens. The perversity and belligerence of America's foreign and security policies in the region for the past couple of decades are finally transpiring unequivocally for everybody around the world. Freedom warriors and apologists have no voice any more.

On a slightly different note, that's Kasich who's promoting himself as the sane choice in the Republican lineup. Oh dear.

Trump is a tyrant who, in order to enslave the country, is enfranchising demented slaves who've been suffering protracted marginalization. Once he ascends the throne, mainstream powers will be forced to forge alliances with him, as he'll continue to intimidate the state with his army of grateful hyenas. Until he consolidates his rule, he'll continue to pander to them, but once he's comfortable enough in his throne, he'll dispose of them.

At any rate, the world is a different place than it was a century ago. Despite the incessant efforts of Judaeo-Christians to ruin us and turn the world against us, the world is still a very habitable place for us. If the U.S decides to fully embrace such identity and enforce fascist views, American Muslims can always choose to immigrate some other place; unlike Jews, we are many, and our lands stretch everywhere. Our enemies shall destroy themselves in their malignant and wicked obsession with us and we will triumph over them.

The amazing thing about America is that we are free to speak our minds, for the most part, with little consequence. The horrible thing about America is that we are forced to listen to some people speak their minds.

With that said, I am both amused and frightened that Trump is ahead in the polls, and the next best Republican candidate is Carson. That is just...insane.

@Gaming-Planet said:

What makes you say that? Sanders and Clinton are both incredibly awesome candidates in their own right (and for very different reasons to boot!), and downright godly when compared to Republicans, who are pretty much all the exact same hateful bigoted ignorant people they always have been.

I don't understand party loyalty, you should vote based on the qualifications of the candidate, but if you are a diehard Republican voter I would love to hear some reasonings behind why you would vote for these people. Even the more traditional, somewhat-understandable Republican values pale in comparison to the more modern conservative values.

I mean, first we had W. Bush. Pretty terrible, and history is not being kind to him and especially not to his administration. Then there was McCain and Palin; they didn't win obviously, and McCain would not have been bad, but Palin? And a guy like McCain associating with that creature? And now we have Trump, Carson, and...worse? Hard to imagine worse, but if Trump and Carson are the best they have...

I honestly don't know anymore. Everyone says "this time he's gone too far", and his poll numbers are still up.

How is that going to work? Are they going to have to wear armbands with a green crescent moon and star on it?

We must destroy the source of his powers, his hair.

I said BOTH!

I'm not loyal to either party.

Bernie Sanders want more government. To erase the 1% which are the people who create jobs. He's not looking at the reason why income inequality is higher than it has ever been by pointing finger at the Federal Reserve that adds in policies that benefit the 1% of the 1%. the people who are in charge of cooperate America. Republican party act like fascist clowns now and want to spend more money on war, the opposite of what their principle should be. Hillary Clinton is not a great candidate, I'm sorry. She's a neo-con in disguised.

Bernie Sanders speaks the truth about corporate America, as I have seen his page about crony capitalism, but I don't think his economic policies are going to defeat the monetary polices we have from the Fed. $85bn dollars is created each month, being created by the Fed when they buy treasury bills and long-term bonds from the Banks. The creates synthetic liquidity, which gives corporate America more power to pump more supply for the meantime and create more spending. Do you see what most of the 50% are spending it on there? The ones that are below the median income of America. Cars and tuition. They can't even afford it without a loan because of what the Fed has done, that encourages more loaning due to inflation. However, there is this illusion that there is no inflation because these businesses have so much money now that they can expand even further, putting the middle class in a corner, causing a deflation in the consumer market. Deflation = less income from consumers to pay off future debt. Guess who can afford all the expensive stocks and are benefiting it from the Fed? The rich, of course.

The creates synthetic liquidity, which gives cooperate America more power to pump more supply for the meantime and create more spending. The rich, of course.

lol sorry, I only took issue with the democrat part so that's why I singled it out. Didn't mean to twist your words :)

And that was an interesting read; I will take your word for it, you seem pretty well versed and fairly objective on the issue.

@mrbojangles25: Apology accepted. The thing with ideologies, you will always find some flaw to them. I'd say the era we are living in now, here in America, is a government problem that requires ideologies with less government. Of course, anarchy isn't the way either. I just wish there was some kind of balance and both democrats and republicans, and actually had debates rather than demonizing each other and being completely biased like their ideology is the right one. America is facing some real issues with crony capitalism, warmongering pentagon, and Congress having an military-industrial complex. All that imperialism and government control on its people is going to be suicide like it was with Rome.

It's not Trump or Carson that worry me. It's the people who would even consider voting for these clowns. I agree with other commenters that it's a sad indictment of the republican voters that a serious candidate like Kasich is polling under 5% while a pair of asshats are in the lead.

@speedfreak48t5p: do you really think a comment like that makes you better than any racist?
