From all the movies I saw in 2012, I'd say True. But I'm pretty sure there lots of movies I didn't see last year that were better.

I really liked it, but Lincoln was my favorite

The series is 2 > 1 > 3. Best movie of 2012 was Les Miserables.

1. Hobbit 2. Dark Knight 3. Skyfall 4. Who cares, top 3 is where it's at

I'd say true. All the people who are saying no, what was better? Django? I certainly know it wasn't the god-awful Bourne Legacy...

#15 Posted by cain006 (8625 posts) -

Only movies from 2012 I saw were The Watch, The Dark Knight Rises, Trouble with the Curve, Brave, and Lincoln. Out of those I enjoyed it the most.

'Les Miserables' (though it's just barely 2012).

It was okay.

Bottom of my top 10.

Hobbit was better.

It would've been my favorite movie of the year if Argo and Looper and Django Unchained and The Cabin in the Woods and Life of Pi and Beasts of the Southern Wild and Moonrise Kingdom hadn't come out that year.

I did really like the movie, though. It was kind of a mess in terms of its story and flow, but it was a very entertaining mess.

True, only a few movies matched or got near it as well.

No. Definitely not.

'Les Miserables' (though it's just barely 2012).

I found it hard to enjoy Les Mis because Javert is my favorite character from it (and his songs, esp Stars, are among my favorites) and god was Russell Crowe bad.

It's true. The Batman saved cinema in 2012.

#28 Posted by nooblet69 (5162 posts) -

False for me though I did enjoy it. Many other films take its place for me. Even enjoyed Django Unchained more.

False. The Hobbit was the best in my opinion.

I'd say it was the 11th best.

I had so much fun with it but its not the best. The best film was The Sessions easily. Loved it.

Interesting list. I just saw the boy with the bike movie the other night on netflix. Didn't even know it was from 2012. Great movie.

Falsetto.

It was, though it did have many plot holes.
#37 Posted by LZ71 (10292 posts) -
Not to me. I personally enjoyed Moonrise Kingdom and Zero Dark Thirty more (others as well, but those are the main two).

which version of killer joe did you see? i've seen the R version in redbox, but i passed because i'm always suspicious of new cuts with new ratings.
#39 Posted by Sharpie125 (3904 posts) -

Absolutely no. Cheers to everyone mentioning Beasts of the Southern Wild (my personal number one).

If people liked Les Mis, I definitely recommend seeing a good production of it on stage. It was one of my all time favourite musicals since I was a kid, so for me the movie was a bit of a let down in that regard.

Django Unchained was better. TDKR was very messy in the middle and a lot of things just didn't make sense from a narrative standpoint.

#41 Posted by lamprey263 (24238 posts) -
False, and also probably my least favorite of the Christopher Nolan Batman films. Honestly though I just didn't like this film.

I own the directors cut on blu-ray. I am not sure what was cut for the R rating, but of course I'd suggest going with the uncut version.

Its not even the bes Batman film of the year...

#46 Posted by TheFallenDemon (13933 posts) -

I think it was the 5th best blockbuster movie I've seen this year.

Drive was the best movie of 2012, even though it was released in 2011. It will also be 2013's Best Picture to boot.

#47 Posted by Ncsoftlover (2111 posts) -

didn't leave much of an impression on me

I like "Perks of being a wallflower" a lot more.

Gotham falls into Nuclear Winter but Batman manages to keep order with the help of reformed Mutants.
The Government sends Superman into Gotham because Batman's become a liability.
Batman fights Superman in Crime Alley and kicks his ass with the help of Green Arrow.
Batman then fakes a heart attack and goes underground to plan his future.
Wayne Manor is destroyed and Alfred dies of a stroke.
The Joker also dies by suicide because Batman still can't do it.
Superman knows Batman is still alive and doesn't do anything about it.

Spoilers btw, so don't read if you haven't watched it yet.

I didn't watch that many movies but out of the ones I saw I'd say true.
