We need a music thread at least once with the site update....they were always my favorite threads and I can't remember the last one.....it's okay to discuss the bands not just list them as well....without further ado....

1. The Cure

2. Placebo

3. Joy Division

4. Depeche Mode

5. Smashing Pumpkins

6. Echo & The Bunnymen

7. The Clash

8. Pearl Jam

9. The Black Keys

10.Psychedelic Furs

But I like a lot more bands.....had to cut it off somewhere.

I can't really nail it down to a list, but in no particular order of recently:

The Royal Concept, Foster the People, The Maine, things of the like. The Maine is probably at the top currently.

@LJS9502_basic: That's actually how I got back into them. I liked them in the 80's, but then "outgrew" them in my teens because I thought they were just fluffy pop. Then I gave them a re-listening to as an adult, and I realized that they actually are mad talented and have some really good lyrics.

3) Aerosmith

4) Boston

6) Judas Priest

7) Disturbed

8) Foreigner

I wasn't sure if you were referring to bands vs. musical acts in general, so I just put down my top 10 bands and left out solo artists/trance producers that I listen to.

@LJS9502_basic: It does. I saw them in concert this summer and half the set list was Drunken Lullabies songs. Twas a great concert (minus the part where I was briefly kicked out for sneaking in a bottle of whiskey).

It's a very wide range at moment but a pattern seems to merge with synthrock, synth pop.

In This Moment

Chvrches

M83 (been into this band way before that song that's being played in every car advert! But it does happen to be one of their best tracks)

The Birthday Massacre

Shiny Toy Guns

Emilie Autumn

In no particular order (except for number one):

1) The Beatles

2) Outkast

3) Madonna

4) Prince

5) Radiohead

6) Kate Bush

7) Elton John (70s Elton John to be clear; with the exception of a few excellent songs, like I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues, and a couple good albums, like The Fox and Sleeping With the Past, his music totally fell apart in the 80s)

8) The Rolling Stones (60s/early-mid 70s Rolling Stones)

9) Genesis

1. Two Steps from Hell (not a band, more of a music production group, but still amazing)

2.Tech N9ne

3. A Day to Remember

4.CCR

5.We Came as Romans

6. Avenged Sevenfold

Radiohead

The Beatles

The Smiths

Animal Collective

Vampire Weekend

Daft Punk

Blur

Gorillaz

Arcade Fire

Sigur Ros

Not including solo artists. This is pretty accurate right now. The top 3 are pretty static for me and the rest might fluctuate a bit depending what I'm in the mood for.
