It's likely you've been bitten and infected already. In mostly people, they don't get any symptoms.
The first sign of infection is loss of higher brain functions; it looks like TC has already succumbed to the disease. :(No that's just a pre-existing condition.
You do realise that even if you sealed yourself in a house for a long while, you would still become unwell since most viruses are air borne and can slip through even the tiniest of spaces. It is only fatal to people with weak immune systems (such as HIV victims), the very young, and the very elderly.
I don't let things like this scare me. I don't think about doomsday things, if I found out today that the world will end without a doubt tomorrow, I would just keep going on as I do. I don't worry about things I cannot control, just live my life trying to be as happy as I can.
