After over a year of not making these threads due to sheer laziness, I decided to try to do so again. Why? Damned if I know...I'm just lazy AND fickle.

Pitch Perfect 2 took the top spot this weekend with an estimated $70 mil opening. With the movie making back more than double its estimated $29 mil production cost, a third film is pretty much a given.
The other big film opening this weekend, Mad Max: Fury Road, may not have pulled in the numbers the competition did, but its results were nevertheless impressive, pulling in an estimated $44 mil in the US alone, Not bad being that it's an R-rated movie and a follow-up to a franchise whose last installment was 30 years ago. It's chances for a sequel is up in the air at this point--although it's probably THE best reviewed film this year, it's still has ways to go to make up it's estimated $150 million production budget. It still has international openingd to look forward to, so there's a chance it can make up for it there.
Next week's major releases include the sci-fi film Tomorrowland, and the remake of 1982's horror film Poltergeist.
So, sound off OT...What did YOU see this weekend, and was it any good?
